New to Turbos

New to Turbos Hey guys Im not very familier with turbos but i have always had an interest in them and came across an offer im thinking bout concidering.
A guy wants to offer me a turbo for my old 5.3 i have sittin in my shop and was wondering what you thought and how much boost and power could i make with this.
All i know about it so far is it has on it T3/T70 and he has all the oil lines and stuff like that, we are supposed to be in contact the next couple days.
Is this worth my complete 5.3????

What brand is it?
Also, a t3 anything will blow dick on an LSx style motor.
Sounds like it's either a Master Power(I've seen import guys run a t3 housing on them), or it's some cheap *** ebay "70 trim" turbo.
Your motor complete sells for around 500-600 around here. Doesn't sound like it's worth it at all.
Sell you motor, save up another 100, and buy a brand new Master Power 70.

Damn it was going to be a christmas present for my wifes build on the vehicle she dont have yet lol.. i thnk it is a MP though.. So what would be a good Beginners turbo with as far as doing everything for installation cheap..

If you want a not so expensive turbo, get a BW S400 series. Front or rear mount both work, just depends on how you want to build it. Front mount makings for servicing or swapping turbos easy.

The s400 i seen seems like a good turbo ppl are pushing over 1000hp out of it and it sold for $1200 Its definately something to keep an eye out for.lol.. i still have time though..
