That's funny, I have a 9 second street car, down to AC/pw/ / stock k member/pl/cruise/ leather, etc.........
For some reason I'm thinking of keeping everything down to the ac & going with a new k member & manual rack, small tires aren't hard to turn & I already have an old elcamino with manual steering & it came like that, it is a street feature

That and the charge pipes kept coming apart after this run. To do list.
Wiggins clamps on cold side ( already have them just need ends welded on)
New converter
Power steering (street cars don't use manual racks)
Come up with some kind of cold air intake setup. Currently picking up air for the turbos directly behind the radiator. Even with the a2w full of ice, we are seeing almost 140 charge temps at the end of a pass.

In another forum I mentioned that it would have been an 8.15 had he gone the short way. LOL
3 problems that we have with the manual rack:
The ratio sucks. Like driving a truck.
Still hard to turn with a spool in the back.
All that tire shake when he comes down from a wheelie.

There shouldn't be any tire shake when the wheels touch down unless you have a situation where the toe is changing... that's also very unsafe, easy way to have a car pull hard in 1 direction when getting on the brakes.
The ratio I agree is alot less, and there is a little slop in the wheel from the aftermarket u-joints, but I guess ya live with that. My burkhart setup has an inch or so of wheel movement that doesn't do anything, might take a little getting used to, but I don't see it as a major issue

I love my madman manual I can turn it with ease now. Only thing I need to do it get a bigger bolt for the shaft to keep it aligned so it doesn't bind up anymore.
But the shake when coming down from a wheelie is exactly what the bump stop is supposed to get rid of so something isn't right there.

Regardless, it's coming out. Wouldn't be a big deal on a track only car but we are going for more of a street thing. The cam is really mild for a solid roller and with a little more time to work on idle and driveability under different conditions in the tune, I should be able to get it really mellow. We just need to come up with an exhaust solution. Torque arm is a major problem on this.

New converter is in the car. The pre intercooler side of the charge pipe has been welded up to one piece with the only couplings being the 2 at the turbos and the one at the intercooler. Pretty much impossible for that side to come apart again. Only a couple test and tunes before DH12. Trying to get her ready and get the ramp rate dialed in for the launch. Also need some protree staging practice for the street car shootout.

Well today is the day, hopefully. The new FTI converter is in the car (the old one was also FTI but smaller and maxed out). He also got the power rack back in the car. He called me after driving it to the alignment shop. He said it's WAY tighter. I'm curious what it will do to the 60'. Hopefully have a 7sec slip tonite.

Shortest track outing EVER!!! LOL. Pulled her off the trailer, played around with the tune a little to get it up on the tbrake/2 step as high as possible and pulled into the staging lanes. Started the burn out in 1st gear and when he shifted into 2nd, the input shaft in the transmission broke.
Back on the trailer and back to his garage. Pulled the transmission out real quick. Slid the input shaft out and only half came out. Popped off the pump and we were able to get some visegrips on the other half and wiggled it out. So I look over on the ground and there is another Rossler Glide sitting there that another friend of ours just bought brand new for his LS7 427 T/A build. It was ordered as an exact clone of Steve's. So we slid the input shaft out of that one and it was a much beefier piece. Not sure why that is and Steve is calling Rossler today to find out what the deal is. We are thinking that when Steve shipped his transmission back to get gone thru and rebuilt a few weeks ago, maybe they grabbed the wrong input shaft when they put it back together.
Regardless, it's back together with the better input shaft and he will just order a replacement for Scotty's and slide it in.

if the converter is that much more tighter and efficient...you're gonna pick up a buttload of mph out the back door...I went from 167 mph to 181 mph with nothing more than a converter change...if he can get it up on boost at the line...it should take him for a ride
