Default Valve Covers...

Dude I bought the same valve covers and they leak really bad . I dyno'd my motor last friday and ended up having to grind the alternator bracket and alternator to make them fit, then they leaked all over the heads...

attention to detail in the engine bay, nice tubular manifold on a street car, not using an ebay intercooler lol

hahah I guess you can say when it comes down to it .. not a lot of guys pay attention to custom fab work I noticed here on the forums unless they're fabricators as a profession. the wiremod! I see people so is so shoddy with the " velcro" im going to rivenut my setup and use cushioned clamps.

They use an O ring style gasket, I do not believe they require silicone. It is the fitment that was the problem, they didnt quite fit the gasket surface on the heads and leaked down onto the exhaust ports and headers. Its like they are too wide or something. I put the stock covers on (with no silicone) and had no problems. I dont think you're using the stock vette alt. bracket, but I did and it needed some grinding as did the alt. itself. I am pretty dissapointed overall, where did you get them from?

Same here... I wonder if yours will leak? I hope not for your sake. I wonder if abad71camaro would be willing to refund my money. ( or give me a set that doesnt leak ) You build looks really good man! I just got a 95 camaro and as soon as my 85' C10 LS carb build is done, I will be building a front mount turbo setup. Keep up the good work.

Do not over tighten the bolts... just barely past hand tight is plenty. i think the leak may have been due to overtightening the bolts but I really dont know, thats what my engine builder said could be a reason.
