Fastest ls stock shortblock
I have had quite a few people ask me to make more of a build thread instead of what I have posted so far. My car had previously been 5.73 at 125(1/8 mile) with a 408 motor and was taken apart shortly afterward for the winter time. Then it ended up on the back burner while I was busy at the shop with customer cars. After seeing several stock motor cars running good I thought I would join the party and try to go for the stock motor record.
About two months ago I took the car to the track on pump gas and 10 psi and went 6.41@110 on its third pass.

The next couple weeks we fight with taking the car to tracks that are 2 or so hours away and only get 2-3 passes out of a full day. We are collecting data and making changes. We retuned the car for e-85 fuel and took it to the track on 12 psi and went 9.61@141 with a 6.22@113 in the 1/8. At this point I am on a 29.5 tire, leaving on 15 psi, not spinning at all.
We had a track day coming up that was supposed to be nice weather, and the track prepped decent due to a big truck event. We put the car on the dyno the night before with plans on leaning on it a bit. The car made 796 rwhp through the locked 4l80e on 15 psi. We also mounted a set of 325-50 radials in hopes that the 28'' tall tire would help the 60'. Well we were right! The second pass off the trailor the car went a 1.43 60', 5.96 1/8 @118, and a 9.304 @146.59!!

This is hardly impressive in comparison to some of the cars on this site, but I thought it was good considering the parts it was done on.
It is a bone stock shortblock with bone stock 317 heads, the only aftermarket parts being cam, valve springs, pushrods, and head studs. 3300 lb raceweight, s400-80mm turbo, Jgs 44mm wastegate, Tial 50mm bov, 4l80e transmission, 3.50 gear. Stock pcm, 2 walbros, 80lb injectors, #10 feed, and return. All done on $1.99 fuel. Here are a few pics of the turbo kit that is now up for sale.

Antony's car is very impressive for what it is. Im glad I had the opportunity to lend my fantastic video skills for him throughout this year. I love when we're at the track and get the " you gotta be kidding me " looks when people are told its a cam only motor . Looking forward to next year
