Default Turbo/Stall/Gear question

I have a TC76 turbo, 3200 stall and 3.73's when I put the car in 3rd at about 45-50mph and floor it the car pulls strong but when the car goes into 4th it pins you back and really pulls.

Or if you do a straight 3rd gear pull from 45-50 it pulls hard but not exciting
same pull in 4th and the car is a different animal, car makes 10psi in both 3rd and 4th.

You think it's just the gearing and not utilizing the hp and tq in 3rd? Car came with 3.73's when I bought it so I have no comparision.

wel, Id be realy surprised if the trans lasts very long at all, making shifts into 4th under power.....4 th gear clutch pack doesnt even like it on a stock car.

Most of the cars I do.....run 3.00 gears and higher(lower numerically). Zombiess car shifts to second at 75mph, goes through the traps in second at 136mph.

I have several others with 2.73's to 3.00's, all perform great. The express van runs 3.73's but it runs a 29 inch tire (on 20's) and weights 6600lb.

If it's a 4L60E, good luck with that.

Should be fine as long as the temps are low. Id switch to a lower gear to help with load.

I plan on switching I just don't know what to go with 2.73's or 3.23's, I want the car to pull hard from 50-55mph in 3rd.

3.23 would be fine you will get alot more mph out of it also. I think 2.73 would be kinda low for what you want. I run 3.73 on my set up but I have a six speed, Im switching to a 3.08 gear because I run top end all the time, Im looking for 200+ mph in the mile by the next event.

Thanks, the best way to describe the 3.73's in 3rd is like a 125 motorcross bike, when the car gets into 4th it feels like a open class bike.
