Well one thing that would probably help is the way it merges to the waste gate. Looking at my kit it takes a right angle to the wastegate so that's probably why I'm only able to get to 12psi minimum.

Oh and tobreak it in just don't push down the gas petal as hard. It's not like you have a Toyota.

Nobody is going to be able to give you a clear cut answer for your combo. Every set-up differs and placement of them is very important. If you want boost control that low I would be using something more then a single 50mm, more like twin 44's/46's, or a single 60mm.

The way to confirm this is after you tune it, if the TQ starts to taper off, then the back housing is too small.
This is a great turbo for 364ci.

I mean the turbo is just starting to get into it's efficency range at 15 psi
I agree, no need to go that low.

Again, no need to go that low. You will be able to drive around and even roll into the throttle without getting into ANY boost. It's not a problem and break in only requires a few heat cycles or 300-500 miles depending on which school of thought you subscribe to.

Most likely, no. Depending on your WG placement, you will likely creep to around 10 psi. Should put you around 650 rwhp at "low boost". Very manageable and safe on 93 oct with lowish timing (depending on DCR).

i believe he want to run really low boost so he can do races where he turns left and right, not just going in a straight line.

No, I want around 8psi or so to help keep my stock bottom end alive and to break in the new engine. Im not sure exactly how much boost my stock bottom end(317s, 228/228) can take before going boom.

I have the twin 38s with .3bar springs and with the BC all the way down the boost creeps to 9psi then settles at 7-7.5 till redline..wonder why it creeps that high with both...

Each wastegate directly on each pipe right before the merge.

its probably because they come out at a 90 from the merge.
if you had more of a Y from them you might get a little lower boost.

That's good enough. Why are you worried about breaking in a stock motor? Did you buy a brand new stock crate engine?

When the new block goes in I want to break it in on low boost.

I would break it in with no boost. Just stay off the throttle for 200-400 miles. Try not to idle it alot at first start up and make sure it's running on the lean side. You'll be fine.

Yeah for the first few hundred miles ill just go into small boost like 1-2 psi..just to help seat the rings a little better. Im getting the car dyno'd tomorrow possible on 7psi...I wonder what she will make. What do you guys estimate? 13* timing WOT 7psi...317 heads 228/228@114. Im hoping for 5-550.
