Default Turbine trim ?

I`m lookin to order a bigger turbo And need to know what the different Turbine trims mean as far as performance and lag? what one do you think would work best on a stock cube ls1 with a T76 and a 1.13 A/R. I know the A/R is big but top end is more important to me then lag so if it spools decent, like 3500rpm I`ll roll with it. Thanks.

1.13 AR will hurt your spool time while giving you no benefit up top, especially with a TT kit.

Use a 76MM .96 AR -Q trim

curious, why do you think that? Everyone i`ve talked to said that the TTi kit could benifit alot from the larger A/R because of the restrictive log. How much more lag would i be looking at.

.96 is the larger AR. .81 comes on the 60 with the kit, right?

Go ahead and try the 1.13 if you want, but the 76 with a .96 AR is a proven combination. It still will have some lag, but it will be worse with the 1.13

i dont know $hit about turbos but when i asked about that 1.13 trim the turbo guy told me that is sized more for like a 400+ci motor at 8000rpm.

told me to stick with a t76, .96ar and qtrim, seems very popular.

Friend had a Q-trim with a 1.13 A/R on a 383. It spooled up to 15lbs at around 3000rpm. You would probably be better off to stick with the .96, but go with t-76 GTS. Housing are pretty easy to change (though don't know how access is to the turbo on the kit), and you can pick up a new one for a couple hundred bucks, so you aren't permanently locked into whatever you buy.

One thing you have to remember is when you change the exhaust housing A/R on a tang turbo it changes the position of the turbo slightly. The difference between O, P, Q, R, and S-trim turbos is the size of the wheel. Each wheel flows more than the previous, going alphabetically. If you're running a single turbo I would run no less than a .96 A/R q-trim turbo.

do NOT get a q-trim, it is too small. I would go with the PT-S wheel.
