STS + LS6 & Intercooler questions
STS + LS6 & Intercooler questions I just picked up and LS6 cam, and am putting an STS kit on my car, I was wondering what kind of power gains folks have seen from this cam. I've heard it was a very good cam for boost ( it's an 04 cam)
as for intercoolers what are you guys using. i have seen 2 or 3 different designs. Is anyone using a same side entrance/exit intercooler? also what size do i Need/will fit. I don't want to cut any holes in my front bumper ( trans am and want to keep the sleeper look.
The car is basically my daily driver, the kit I have doesn't have an intercooler. so I want to get my ducks in a row before installation.

the LS6 and the EPP cam are the one's I hear doing really good for this set-up. There are a few that get their cams custom but I think they had some trial and error with their set-ups.
I am running a W2A in mine was really easy to do and as for hiding thing I thought about it but ending up putting it behind the bumper so I can fit a tranny cooler close to the radiator. My W2A the pictures are a little rough but I think you will get the idea

I have read that not cutting bumpers on those cars makes for REALLY high IATs.
I had the LS6 cam with a T67 turbo put down around 500 and drove like bone stock with it since its a small cam. If you like choppy idle its not what you want lol

too many variables to give you something like that. Your setup, tune and amount of boost could give you a good guess but it would depend on how much boost you plan to run and the tuner. I am not exactly sure of the limits of the LS6 cam though.
lets just say everything stock, but LS6 intake and the turbo kit, going from stock cam to LS6 cam, and springs of course. 5PSI which is the stock boost level. I couldn't find anyone dynoed or i wouldn't have posted.

I have checked out but after looking over 16 pages again. i still didn't see the cam, etc. or a dyno with just the cam now with an intercooler.
while you did a great job at cutting around the bird and all for the intercooler. I am just not ready to cut up the front of this specific car. not to mention i don't want my car screaming it's turboed when it's sitting there not even turned on lol.

Verdad Gallardo thanks.. i may find a spot to stick it yet, APS had s place for their stuff to moutn i'll have to read up on my kit some and see what it did...since i had a couple pieces miss ing i'll have to fab something up for it. might just do one for this car at the same time.
