The Cummins guys use what they call 'fire rings'. They are a mild steel, and they are not triangular in shape.

Does anyone know if these pyramid rings are stainless or mild steel?

P.S. There is no 'G' in Cummins

my mistake, i do not know how to spell

100psi is allot of pressure threw that motor, i guess using fire rings makes a big difference

You are doing good for 18lbs on a set of l92's. veee8 on here started to lift the l92 heads just north of 15lbs on his previous motor due to the thin deck casting.

87silverbullet- i was trying to search for some of his old threads. I dont know if he was oringed and i thought he had an issue with the ls7 gastets. i forgot to add im running the ls9 head gaskets with the larger head studs cut torqued to 110ftlbs.

Just pm him. He is a cool guy to talk to. I bought the sheetmetal intake from him that he had on the l92 headed motor. It looks like I might be selling it soon though, going a different route.

I heard the larger head studs don't make a difference because you are still dealing with a thin deck casting. I might go with the Mast motorsports heads since they are thicker casting and I can still use the sheetmetal intake. I keep looking at the PI heads though.

i checked the car this morning after hitting 19psi a bunch of times last night. seemed like i lost a half quart of coolant. im not sure if it was pushing water or air in the coolant system, i had drained and flushed the system yesterday, so it could of had an air bubble.

Yes they are. When I posted I was looking at those two heads at least a year ago. I just saw this thread in the engine section a couple of days ago.
