Boost wont go over 6psi ?

Default Boost wont go over 6psi ?

A friend got '00 GT stang with p1sc , car has about 480rwhp , suddenly the boost lowered to 6psi, it was about 9psi . checked everything and didn't figure out what the problem is !!

what could be the problem ??

check the hoses to see if something came loose , also check for belt slip or something that might restrict the filter.

Do you mean there is air leak somewhere ?

yes, when a supercharger is spun, it puts out a certain amount of air no matter what, the only way your boost would drop is if the air is either leaking out a hole, or the belt is slipping and not letting it spin fast enough. How many rib pully do you have on the supercharger

'96-'04 GT Mustangs are 6-rib drive, but they can be converted to 8-rib.

Check the bypass valve. The vacuum line may have come undone, or the diaphram may have developed a hole in it.

the supercharger pulley and belt will have a certain amount of grooves on it. the more grooves, the harder it is to slide the belt.

a 6 groove pulley is most likely sliding, put on a new belt and see what happens

Look for belt dust on the blower, it will be black in color. Belt dust is an indication the blower belt is slipping. A new blower belt will generally appear to be too small at first, and may be hard to install. After a half an hour to an hour of use, the new belt will stretch and may need to be retightened. The first hour of use should be limited to part throttle use, to allow the belt to break in. Bob

I'll do that on the day


When we opened the hose in the front of the blower we found some oil on the edges , i think the filter caused that ... is that ok ?
