The one thing I really didn't want to screw up was the fender

2 things have always bugged me about this car. The terrible wiring, and the firewall. So I cut both out.

Those are just wires going to 3 mechanical guages. WTF?

Made a new firewall. In comparison the old one looks like swiss cheese.

Usually I'm working by myself. I have some help when my brother is home from school on the weekends. I work on it most days when there isn't farm work to do, which there isn't a lot right now being winter.

I swear all us farmers have 3 things in common: Fast cars, Sleds, and farming

Awesome build btw...

Seeing all of the space you have to work with makes me want to build a chassis car.

As an update, after doing a bunch of work, mostly wiring, I got this up and driving about a month ago. But it seemed to be burning a bit of oil. So I pulled the whole thing apart, and think i traced the oil to very poor vavle seals and unsealed rocker arm studs. Figured while it's out might as well put rings in it so i know what I have is good and found 2 broken top rings in the process. So I'm currently sitting waiting for parts.

Haven't updated this in a while, so here's some. Had the car running 9.60s but wasn't real happy with the power it was making. So I ordered a Virginia Speed cam and swaped it and re-dynoed. It picked up 140 hp and 215 ft-lbs (athough we did add a bunch more timing too). On the weekend it went a 8.78 @ 157.58

Here is the video from thursday's dyno session

And here is the 8.78 from saturday. For reference the mustang ran an 11.42

Nice. When you said you were looking for mid 9s I thought you were smoking something. At 2500lbs with that's turbo, high 8s would have been easy.

Questions.
Where is the alternator?
What timing are you running?
What are the specs on the cam

Thanks

The alternator is low mounted on the left side. It's a tiny powermaster race alternator and attaches to the engine plate. You can see the bottom of the bracket in this picture.

26 Degrees timing on C16, Its a VTC 2 cam 23x/22x
