Im just compairing numbers............I have worked on a car that has gt35r's on the aps kit. The car makes good power, but we don't have back pressure sensors for the car right now and we don't know how much more the turbos have left.
After knowing what it takes to get the gt35's on, the LG turbos are the only option anyone with out the ability to do their own fabrication should consider.

Im looking for a realistic comparison of what a gt35 is capable of compaired to the Forced/LG turbos. Im thinking that the LG turbos are perfect for those of us who have less than 400 ci, but if you are looking for a more agressive setup out of the aps kit and you have a larger engine(408,416...), then maybe it is worth fitting some modded gt35's

also how did you fit them?
and i am about two weeks from ordering my billit ones with ball bearing centers. just going over some wheels. since they have a custom shaft. i cant take LG wheels and put them on the center.

I never did take any pics of it, but we had to do a lot of modification to the bmr k-member on the passenger side and just a little trimming on the frame in that area. The exhaust housing we used are a 5-bolt housing with a port for the wastegates. One the drivers side we had to modify the motormount and trim a small section on the back of the block to clear the exhaust housing. We had to build new down pipes to meet up with the y-pipe.
Exhaust housings more like the aps exhaust housings would have helped out a lot.
we cut down the compressor inlet on both sides using a lathe and we ran new intake piping and modified the piping to the intercooler.
Initial dyno run was a little under 800 through a 4l80 and a 12 bolt on a mustang dyno. I wasn't involved with the tuning, but I think the IAT was getting a little high, so meth or a A2W will be an option.
The tuning is deff not final, but that car is getting a 10 pt cage, paint and BS3/A1000/CO2.
It's really alot of work to do that................almost to the point that a custom twin or single system would have been a close option. However, this is a full street car and the location of the aps turbos was really the best option for this situation.

Garrett GT3582r's (or GT35r's) are a 65lb/min turbo. Forced Performance can get you upgraded to either a 71 lb/min wheel or a 75 lb/min wheel with one of their HTA treatments. In the import world, we've done over 600hp to all 4 wheels on the standard GT35r. Two of these should be good for around 1200hp given all the right breathing mods.

Thats really what Im getting at................and even after the dyno how are they going to hold up to constant abuse from a big inch engine? It would seem to me that the smaller turbine wheel would start to be a restriction for a bigger engine. At what point would we start to run into backpressure issues with the LG's compaired to the gt35's?
These are just questions............not trying to stir up anything......just info
I know I'm deff going to run the LG's with my 347, but how good of a decision was it to go through all of the hassle to put the gt35's on my friends car? At the time we didn't know LG was working on these turbos and the ball bearing option of the Garretts is really nice

i hate to say it. but if APS would put out a GT35 option it would be nice. then guys with big cubes have something.
now i am not trying to start the big APS is **** conversasion. we know that. lol juat as an option. if i had a 400 CI i would want bigger turbos. but since i have a 377. LG or the Billet is my best option.
now if someone had a 427 and your option has 2800 from LG or 2800 from APS with garret center. i would want gt35.

I plan on seeing if can use a hard pipe for inlets since did get the bmr aps crossmember.
Should be installing it with the lg turbs in couple of weeks. The inlet ducts were backordered from LG. Will use stented ones for temp if have to and hard pipes won't work. Actually someone posted they used hard pipe even on standard bmr kmember i think and they had pics..???? Like 2 .5 inch section think they had to fabricate it some and weld it up though and some 2.5 to 3 inch reducer coupler?

Im looking for some information on a few different turbos. I am looking for this information strictly for comparison and for information for others.
I have some of the data, but I am have some of the information that I havn't found yet.

Exd 58.8 mm- the difference in the turbine wheels- is the stock aps uses a 12 blade wheel where as the lg upgrades use an 11 blade wheel and the angle of the blades are different. The diameter of the two wheels are the same or they would not fit in the stock aps housings.

Peter did offer to sell me some gt35 awhile back. So mabye they actually fit no problem or maybe these were modified to not sure. I passed as of course who trusts APS after the knock off fiasco although somehow my standards are still boosting at 5000 miles or so even though only going to run them a few more weeks just got them when the spring weather turned amazing and have to drive the car a bit and not put it down until get week of rain.
I figure the LG will be lots for me and my 408. Course I didn't really find the stock ones that bad even at 7.5psi the car was pretty wicked fast but also not running a stock 408.
But hey I guess should upgrade then I can make 500 ft or 1000 ft black strips instead of just the 100 or so that can put down now.
Anyway BB are more handy on standard cars as you lose boost more between shifts when you lift off the gas. But you can do no lift to shift or powershifting to help that out. Ball bearing mostly just have bit better recovery and transient response not usually much faster spooler up. They don't require near as much oil pressure either so that might help a bit in gravity feed situations like ours . They are also think non rebuildable ??
I have BB garrett on my 97 talon ,its manual car.
My 91 auto would be fine with a non bb turbo.
so if you aren't stick woudn't get all hung up over bb ones. And I will say my 408 spins up the standard non bb real fast ,traction is the problem from the spool up more than anything and with two step and my stall can easily build decent boost on the line.
So no bb needed in auto car.
