My 347 build complete (56k=death)
Well I finally have the car fully put back together & running STRONG!! This was a big winter project that I have been waiting and waiting to do. In August my wife & I finally found a house and I was lucky enough to have the time and resources to pull the motor and build a forged bottom end.
So let me first start of by showing you what the car looked like before I started the tear down.
About 5 years ago right after I installed Andy’s P1 kit
This past Oct. right before I parked her and started the tear down.
Motor build
347ci
Diamond -8.6cc Forged pistons
Diamond rings
K1technology rods
ARP 2000 rod bolts
ARP head & main studs
Stock crank
SC3 cam (226/234 .598/.599 117+2)
Manely double roller timing chain
LS6 oil pump
LS6 heads
60# injectors
Patriot dual springs
Yella Terra rockers
LS6 intake
OBX LT headers
Magnaflow cat back
And so the fun begins….
Motor OUT!!!
Original block & pistons (in really good shape for 85k)
Forged Bottom
Assembly time, Me in the black shirt, Lt. Dan in the white shirt
I put my motor in from the bottom already on the cradle & just used a motorcycle jack to lift it up in place.
Some of you may know that guy in the middle, Zturd from the forum, & DSchmitte on the right
Up next is the mock up of the laid front intercooler & radiator.

Now for some of the small touches
BACK ON THE ROAD!!!
So it was a fun project, with some minor things to finish up on. Such as the tune and washing the poor thing. I can’t thank you guys on the forum enough, I have been a member here for a while and have just been taking in all the information put up. BlownBlueZ06 has been a SAVIOR w/ helping me tune the car. Fartpipe has been a huge help in coming over & helping get stuff back together. Lt. Dan has also been a big help in everything. Reido is my professional photographer, you can def. tell which pics he took.
No dyno number yet, I just had the car out Saturday to go down to Cecil, just for some break in miles. She runs strong, and I can tell there is a lot more grunt w/ the better heads & cam. As soon as I get her on the dyno I will let you know what kind of #’s I put down and maybe I’ll make my way down to Cecil for some time slips this summer.
