It's a reputable dyno shop, his numbers aren't wrong. He didn't put the car on the dyno until after the track times. He's also leaving off at transbrake and 10lbs of boost with a big tire, he's taking advantage of his power he's making vs a 6 speed smaller tire car that won't be leaving with that much power.

Tirefryins10 (sp) put down almost 600 with a 5.3 76mm With an auto and went 140 with I'd guess a 3000 lb coupe.. Just saying auto dyno numbers are way off and to the bike guy if I had a 76 on 15 lbs better beleive I'd go 138 as well lol

Here are the graphs from the dyno pulls. First pull is 11.5lbs, the red pull is the setting I ran ~139 on.

I think the car needs a cam to help extend that power band.

I'm not sure where the weight came from. Last year it had the 10bolt, smaller DS, log manifold with a TC78, 4l80 and weighed ~3620. This year it got a 12bolt, TH400, 3" DS with 1350 joints, the big garrett, manifold kit and came in at 3680-3700 depending on if I have a full tank or not.

Before the turbo kit it was a alum headed SBC/spray/TH350 with no roll bar and was 3360 with me in it. 3100 with out me.

Roll bar added ~60
Cold side is ~45
Turbo is ~43
3.5" exhaust
Manifolds vs headers + even more piping under the hood.
Sub in the back ~45

Just like how all the little things add up in making a car lighter, they can add up and go heavier.

Awesome setup for sure. I bet the car is making a lot of power but not showing it on the dyno because of the converter.

3700 seems high though, great job though!!!!

Well it is in writing so it most be true. (Is that what you are saying)Like I said hard to get at the pump around here. I know what Ethanol and Methanol can and does do. I am not down on it, I am merely saying it is hard to accomplish in So Cal.

Did you know - Methanol is cheaper than ethanol?

It can also be made from a broader variety of biomass material, as well as from coal and natural gas. And methanol is the safest motor fuel, because it is less flammable then Ethanol much less flammable than gasoline. That is why many of the racing sanctioning bodies use it. Ethanol is the new Methanol to the tree hungers so YES now the IRL and other are going to Ethanol.

Also Ethanol is less chemically toxic than Methanol, and it carries more energy per gallon.

Ethanol contains about 75 percent of the energy of gasoline per gallon, compared to 67 percent for Methanol. That is why the engine goes less miles per gallon, but in the end the miles per dollar ends up the same. As long as you don’t mind stopping for gas more often and you can find a place to purchase it - you are golden.

Methanol is more corrosive than Ethanol but Ethanol is more corrosive than Gasoline. And like your link stated, this can be dealt with by using the right materials in the automobile fuel system.

A Methanol fuel system will naturally stand up to an Ethanol fuel and Gasoline.

Both Ethanol and Methanol are water soluble and biodegradable in the environment. So, when you spill it, it is not as bad for the environment as Gasoline.

Small update: started to push water pretty often with the boost at 14-15lbs, so I installed a cam similar to a LS6, LS9 head gaskets, and ARP studs. No water pushed so far at 14-15lbs and a couple spurts to 16.

Made it back to the track in the hotter weather, and ran my first 9sec pass. 14.5lbs leaving off the brake at about 8-9lbs. I need to put some struts on the car to keep the front end up and stop unloading the tires.
