I thought they were the same.
no one has shown any diffence between them, except one costs more.

um, all the 6.0 heads are the same. Well, there are a couple different versions based on the casting process.

The CR difference between the 2 motors is the difference, not the heads. LQ9 = flat top pistons, LQ4 = dished pistons.

It`s asked so much because nobody so far has been able to answer it. Two sets of heads two differant part #s . Some say there is no differance but they can`t tell us why GM used two differant part #s for the same heads. Some say the lq9 heads are better but know one has flow numbers or proof. just wondering if somone had flowed them and put this debate to rest. Sorry.

part numbers are different because the base casting is different, the machining process is the same.

It's not a lq4/lq9 thing, is a supplier thing.

You basicically set the Temp to enable closed loop to the max value it will take. Then turn off all the 02 sensor codes.

You'll have to dial in your IFR and MAF with a WB O2 after turning them off, or dial them in based off L-trims before you pull the sensors.

If you're not gonna run leaded fuel, stick with them. No reason not to in that case.
