Default Anyone ever had this problem?

Hey guys Ive had several people to look at my car and nobody has figured it out yet and was wondering if anyone has had this problem every few days Ill try to crank my car and nothing happens all the gauges work everything has power but the starter will not turn over so I wait exactly 3 mins. and it starts fine I put a new starter relay and no help put a new starter wiring harness and no help so my tuner thought it might be in the security so he cut it off and still no help. Any ideas? thanks

Checked all the wiring? Ive had stupid problems like this before and its usually a loose wire to or from the starter.

I vote electrical also.

My truck had a problem once. When it was cold out, the transmission would be in limp mode. Get home in the afternoon when it warmed up, and all would be good. Come to find out, it was loosing power from the fuse box, but only when it was cold. The fuse holder would loose contact. Weird.

What I would do is test all the connections related to the starter with a multimeter when you are having the no start condition. Hopefully you find something interesting.

BTW, it's 60# injectors, not 60psi...

I would say either a ground or the starter solenoid. I had this same problem on my integra after doing some mods. It wound up being a ground that I forgot to hook back up. Freakin hondas have like 10 grounds lol.

bang it with a hammer when it does not want to start and have a friend turn the key in to the crank position while you hammer on the starter

if it starts like that, get a new starter

a car needs 3 things to start. air, fuel, spark. find which of the three it is missing and you'll know what needs to be fixed! you can eliminate air unless you have a rag in your intake tube....lol...check to see if you're getting spark during cranking, and check for fuel pressure at the line while cranking

It also needs to TURN OVER lol. I think you may have missed the part where he said NOTHING happens, as in the starter is not even turning/engaging. I'd be willing to bet it's the solenoid. If you've checked the respective wiring. Next time it happens, if you can get to the starter solenoid wire with a Multimeter while someone tries to start it and make sure your getting voltage to the solenoid while keys in cranking position that will eliminate the possibility of it being computer/relay/electronic related and you know it is something mechanical i.e the solenoid itself.

The key is usually not the problem when you have a vats issue, the lock cylinder is.

When vats is working corectly, when you put the key in the ignition and turn the key to the on position, the security light should come on and hold for three seconds and then go off. Does it do that?

When the vats detects a fault, the security light will flash once per second and the car won't start or crank.
