I'm bumping this up because I absolutely love the intercooler setup on this. What is that core rated to power wise? Are you guys going to run a heat exchanger on this setup?

There should be some more update pics up soon, I made some more progress on it yesterday.
The intercooler uses duel Bell cores, each rated at 750 hp.
I used a heat exchanger last year, but found it was redundant, seeing as this is a separate system with the ice water tank. The water after the ice melted only ever got luke warm, and still pulled any heat out of the charge air, for street driving. At tthe track full of ice, 60* IAT's were fairly normal, with ambient 80*+
Heat exchanger is really helpful on a system that uses engine coolant through the intercooler system, which is not the case here.
I will have it fired up this week! Stay tuned!

That's a really compact unit then for being rated around 1500hp. I love the super short charge tubing. The only thing I'd do different is mount the BOV pre intercooler, but that is because of... --> When you were street driving the car how long of a cruise are we talking? I live in the land of 10 month summers, 8 months of 95* temps every day, 90%+ humidity, and feet blistering asphalt. I'd like to be able to hop in my car any time, drive an hour across town possibly hitting traffic, and drive back without issues. With uniced straight water I think a heat exchanger might be a necessity. Thoughts?

Is that the best ways to mount A2W cores? I allways thought that if a core can flow say 750bhp worht of air then if you push more through it than that you start to see higher presure drops. i know i haven't exsplaned that very well. but would it not be more efficent to have the corse mounted on top of each other so the air is passing paralel throug two 750bhp heat exchangers?????

Doesnt matter if it is horizontal or vertical as long as the cores are facing the proper direction.
Very efficient setup, that does a great job at cooling.
The water doesnt not get hot in this setup even after driving in traffic, because it is a self contained setup, with a 7.6 gallon tank. Water has a higher heat latency then air-air.

Stacking the cores would not be as efficient because the cooling occurs within the first few inches traveling through the core and eventually the core is soaked and the rest of the core would no longer provide any cooling to the air charge.

You want the air to contact the max surface area of the core, so placing side by side would double the surface area, instead of stacking.

Jordan- Does that precision 4788 have the billet wheel or cast? Not to hate cause this car is bad ***, but that cam sounds lopey as hell for a turbo car. Did you get it to smooth out a bit with tuning?

It is cast wheel.
Zero tuning done on the car yet. Just loaded the base map in it. It will probably tame it a touch at idle when it is tuned.
Rest assured, it is a full custom turbo cam for this setup.

It has 325's on it now. He picked up a set of 315's, and we may throw on some 275's eventually.

Thanks guys.
