Ditching the twins... New GT55 C6 Z06 Build
My car has been a testing ground of technology for some time now... it was one of the first C6 Z's in the country to have an Auto swap, one of the early Twin Turbo cars, and one of the first to go 9's, one of only 3 to go 8's and one of the fastest MPH C6 Z's on the planet.
But that just wasn't enough...
Well, the details are ironed out, the calculations have been made, and parts have been shipped. All that is left is assembly, testing, and record breaking excitement!
So here is what is going in now.
Brand spanking new LSX block with Callies Magnum crank (The dragon slayer wasn't rated hight enough) Billit I beam rods, and a fresh set of Diamond custom pistons. We settled on a 9.2:1 427 and have converted to a race ready dry sump system!
This year non-sponsor will be ditching the twins and in place will custom designing a Single kit around one big GT55 ball bearing 91MM Turbo. Fueled by 220lb injectors through the fast LSX-R intake and ETP Heads. We decided it was time to stop playing around and get some real 60' so we are ditching the stock rear spindles and put in new custom spindle kit from ECS that will allow a 15" wheel and yes, you guessed it, some big old meatty SLICKS!
The 4L80 from non-sponsor held up well last year (we never broke it), but with the new turbo (and potentially even bigger turbo later in the season) we thought we needed something a bit more stout, so we contacted our friends over at RPM and they are putting together one of the first ever Turbo 400 Race conversion for a C6Z06. This tranny will be complete with a pro tree trans break and a monster stall so we can launch in boost.
Some of you may already know that the stock computer has limited us to 21lbs of boost for some time now... so we decided to ditch it! (or at least piggy back in) a AEM stand alone system so we can push just a bit more boost through that big A$$ single.
Assembly is underway, so if you stop by the thread take a look as we keep updates underway.
Before and after
Keeping it cool fed with fuel..
Keeping it cool this year will be a brand new custom designed Air To Water system...
Just to keep that all in perspective... here is a 2 liter of Dew...
More pics and updates to follow...

Well that all depends, LOL
I had the stock motor (never broke it)
built that for N20, made 7 passes and toasted the clutch so I decided to go to an auto conversion...
Sold the built LS7 (still kicking as I built it, not blown yet) and built an LSX for forced induction. Ran that a whole year with no issues then Feb of the following year I tried to spray it and thought I hurt the motor. Pulled it, sent it to Livernois and found out it wasn't hurt. While the motor was out we had a race so I dropped the motor out of the Yellow car into my car. Ran that nearly all season until we had a GM bushing fail that pushed my driveshaft into my crank. That messed up my main caps, but Livernois was able to get it repaired and back to me quickly so we could run at the LSX Shootout last year. Durring the shootout I dropped a valve but the motor was ok. While deciding on this new build we decided that the compstar crank would not support the 1500+ horsepower we were going after, and at the recomendation of Livernois I purchased a fresh block and Magnum crank so we would not have any issues with the added power.
Now I want you to keep something in mind, I bought the car new in 2007 and have run it every year since I purchased it. I have easily over 100 passes every year (probably WAY more than that) and have run in the high 8's low 9's almost all of them.
How many other C6Z's have you heard of that have run faster than lets say 9.10 more than me with less breakage?
I have videos of my car running all day long at track events making no less than 20 passes in a single day with no issues at all.

TH400 over the 4L80 for more trans brake options...
TH400 over the PG for 1 more gear for street driving. I still have to take the kids to school you know.
