th400 turbo guys- 3rd gear feel significantly weaker ?
Th400 guys .. im having an issue with my th400 .. brand new coan th400 with pro torque 3200 stall converter. 9" rear with 3.00 rear end gears new lq4 iron block, dynos 632 in 2nd gear, 3rd gear dyno sees less mid range and same peak. driving on the street 1st feels great, 2nd feels great but 3rd feels like its just there for the ride and the cars not accelerating very heavily at all. is your car like this or should i look into loose converters or possibly a slipping transmission ?

Wierd, my TH400 pulls like a rapped ape in all gears. I have a looser stall too, 3600 superstreet fighter tci.
mine made similar numbers but on 8psi through my old 383 LT1.
Whats your setup?
Jay

any knock in 3rd gear that would cause it to pull timing? 1:1 with 3.00 gears is pretty high of a ratio. what size tire you got on it? Are you sure it doesnt just feel slower even through youre picking up good mph? Is it making the right amount of boost in 3rd? Your turbo could be too big and out of its efficiency range at lower rpms

oh also, you get torque multiplication running a dyno in anything other than a 1:1 trans ratio. You have to make sure that the dynojet is calibrated for the correct gearing if its in another gear or itll read differently
