200 on jack stands is safer than 200 on the road lol. I already have video of me going 190 on GPS in a friends car.

I'm running an OZ700 Z-grip in my z06 and am pretty happy with it, but I'm only making around 400 rwhp. I have a friend selling a McLeod street twin if you are interested. He said he'll let it go cheap. I would have bought it from him for my z06 if I had known he had it.

You can get a McLeod RXT 1000hp street twin from SDPC for $799. I ended up going with the RST which is an organic materialed twin disk rated at 800 for $649.

They aren't running free shipping any more, but here's the thread:

You must have some brass ones then! I was super nervous having my car showing 45 while it was on a 2 post lift about 6 inches off the ground!

Guess I overestimate the power of harmonics or other vibrations that might cause the car to fall...

i had a spec 4 and loved it. making a lil over 500whp put 10k miles and over 100 track passes on it, and never had one single issue, did some 1.47 60's with it. running a monster 5 now and i like it got some 1.44s out of it.

What kind of street duty did it see with each? Which did you think was better? Tick MC or slave shim?

I won't buy any spec clutch again ever. Price does not justify the quality at any level and I have tried most of them.

I currently have a solid hub brass/brass puck disk custom made but there are several companies selling the same thing for cheap. Stock pressure plate and 5k miles at 650+ ft lbs. No noise, grabs hard, is no worse than driving a spec 3 really. Only time I notice it is at low speed if you shift with engine speed really far off from what the tires are spinning.

Yes an lt but I have seen them cut for ls also.

shim with the spec, and tick now with the monster. spec saw 10k miles of hard street driving/racing, and so far monster has seen about 5kmiles of street driving/racing. no complaits about either one but now will be pushing the monster to its rating limits this year with new setup so we'll see if it holds.

I put a SPEC 4 setup on my (then) 355 LT1 with approx. 370 hp in 2003.
Drove perfect. Trying to back up, it was sometimes a bit grabby but going forward, I could leave smoothly enough.

Went to a solid roller cam 383 LT1 approx 500 hp, same story on the SPEC 4. Beautiful.

Went to a Turbo 355 approx 6xx hp at 14psi(108mph in 1/8th mile, 3,650 lb car, street tires (Nitto DR)), same story on the SPEC 4 for 2 years. Finally went belly up in Sept/2009 when it locked up/wouldn't disengage on the 2nd pass at the drag strip that day. Finally did disengage after about 30 minutes and I drove it home. I took it out, put in a TH350 w/Vigilante but I'm taking it back out and putting the T56/SPEC 4 back in with a ClutchNet 6 button solid hub next weekend. I have to drive 260miles each way each weekend so I need the 6 speeds overdrives back
Bottom line, I love the SPEC 4.

SPEC 5 is more of a drag clutch. Does not last long for street driving. I went through 2 of them years ago in 6 months. When it was new it grabbed like a ****..

Southbend clutch>than any clutch I've had.....and my Spec 3 lasted 40,000 miles. Owned a Spec 5 as well. Plus how do you beat a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty that includes drag racing it.
