That's what I was thinking...8psi is safe with the stock heads. Do you plan on turning up the boost more in the future?

Im in the middle of my build.

317s, with PRC dual gold springs, light port work by myself, and gonna do a valve lap on them, then mill them the minimal for cleanup.

Also running a LS9 headgasket .053(iirc)

I prob won't but I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to do since I'll have the heads off

I'm not worried about what the heads can handle, I don't want the bottom end to blow apart

I think your bottom end is pretty safe on 8psi. With a stock cam, its not like you can wind it to 6500+ rpms or anything. Just my opinion, though.

8 psi with stock compression should be just fine as long as you get a good tune. Bob

Changing the heads wont make the bottome end stronger ?

If anything lower you compression will only make you low end power suckier when off boost

If you can find a decent set of 243s, I'd swap to those if you have the funds and since you said you'd already have your stock heads off. That's my plan for this winter...blower cam, meth, and maybe some 243s if I can get a set for a decent price.
