Thanks guys.

I am thinking of getting the manifolds coated by something like Swaintech coating, same with the down pipe, might even wrap it as well....
Not sure if I should on the stainless crossoverpipe though. What do you guys think about coating and wrapping? Ok on mild? Bad on stainless? Coating on the stainless at all?

Need to cutdown on the under hood temps, the alternator doesnt like to work when it gets hot under there.

Liking the build, I also have issues with temps, In process of finishing up turbo swap from 67 to 88. I kept the stock radiator set up with a pusher fan. I'll have to see how that works out. It's fine for driving around. But at the track sitting in line and then the burnout and such it can easily get to 230 degrees.

My crossover is wrapped and I plan on wrapping the down pipe as well. My Turbo mustang runs pretty hot and it drives me nuts at times, Having to pull over to let it cool down. It runs a pretty big Afco Radiator with a big single fan. Let me know how you solve the temp issue. I'm sure I'll have that issue as well. My turbo being mounted low should help a bit though.

Here are some pictures of the relocated tranny cooler. It definately runs warmer, i slapped a fan on there for the really hot days. I think i might even add a small air dam to help it out, it does ok.

4" cutout down to the 3" I had on there before. Its definately not efficient but it stopped the boost creep.

View from underneath.

Downpipe over crossmember, unfortunately I have a leaky fitting on my power steering. Ill have to change them.

4280lbs Raceweight holy moly!

What size tire are you running? Awesome to see the 3.25 gearing work well. Must get decent fuel economy on the highway.

Yes its a heavy pig. 4l80e, 9", steel driveshaft, iron motor, big turbo, cage, sound matting, full interior, two n20 bottles add up!

On the street 315MT ET Streets, at the track 26x10MT ET Drags Stiff Sidewall.

14mph is about the best i have gotten with the 3.70 gears on E85, see if that changes with the 3.25's.

Yes sir. I found that if we tightened the belt too much it would shred it. We found a happy medium where it squeals once in a while if cold but works good otherwise.

Well, its time to bring this thread back to life. As a summary I had a lot of little issues last summer and squeaked out a 10.52@133.7 before my transmission quite functioning properly.

I am in the process my 4l80e being rebuilt, thats another thread, but I am also making upgrades to my turbo setup and cooling system.

I wasn't able to run my open 4" cutout last year without boost creep so I had a local fabricator begin his work on modifying my hotpipes and downpipe...

He brought the driver side hotpipe over the downpipe and down and the passenger side pipe to swoop down as well so he could merge them earlier and have a good place to mount the wastegate. You can look at previous pictures to see the old gate setup.

He added the cutout before the second 90 degree bend, pointing straight at the ground. This should provide the least resistance. You can also see a new vband welded into the downpipe, the previous vband didnt have an oring or receiver grooves to make them fit together, thus i had leaks. Now it should be great.

Here are a few pictures of the modified hotpipes and downpipe.

You can see the new location of the wastegate flange.

I sent in my manifolds to be coated by Swaintech with the "White Lightning" coating. Here is a picture of one how it arrived and the other i painted over the coating with JetHot flameproof high temp exhaust paint. Both were painted and then baked.

My fabricator made a bracket to hold up the turbo and take the weight of the pipes.

Here is a picture of my turbo without the blanket on. You can see the top part of the bracket in this picture (black rod bolted to power steering bracket)

In the next two pictures you can see the bottom part of the bracket (bolted in two places to the block)

Few other pictures of turbo.

Painted downpipe with relocated wideband 02 bung pre cutout.

We wrapped and installed all of the hotpipes today.

New Spal 16" fan (2070cfm) shown next to stock fans for comparison. I previously had two proform pushers and one 12" puller.

16" Spal installed, fits snug between turbo blanket and radiator only on a small part of fan. Very impressed so far with air movement, i think it might take care of my heating issues. Definately an improvement over three low flow fans.

looking good if you don't move the trans cooler, turn it so air goes through it.

When you get done I bet we can find a Mustang or two for you to beat up on.

$235 for manifolds to be coated.
They will give you quotes over the phone, good to work with.

With shipping it was like $275 or so.

Looks like a good coating, im sure it will help out.

Great thanks. They are located just past my machine shop, about 45 minutes away from here, so I wont even need to ship them.
