Got the tranny cooler relocated up front again.

New radiator bracket, I will probably powder coat this black.

My buddy made a fog light bracket to work with the intercooler.

Here is a picture of the front with the liscense plate area cutout fully now and the fog lights mounted. I like the look with the fog lights better.

LOVE the foglight mount!

Side question...where did you get the 80E from and what all is done to it? I'm in the process and just trying to gather everything I think I'll need.

Thanks.

The 4l80e was from a junkard with 4x,xxx miles on it. I put a transgo stage II shift kit in it with a yank py3400, it ran strong for 2.5 summers, started slipping last year. Actually right in the process of my buddy rebuilding it, should be done in the next few days.

Powder coated the radiator cover and changed the front fuel rail fittings to black.

Another view.

Powder coated the 5" CAI pipe. The filter is a 9" tapered cone filter, that should be a big improvement over last years filter.

No more brackets for sale, just a custom job. I like them.

1980 i believe, my cousins. I can see if i can round them up.

Since last year I have had backfire issues at higher rpm and typically in 3rd gear. We replaced the PRC .650" springs (had about 35k miles on them) with some new .660" lift Patriot Dual Springs and also replaced spark plugs while we were at it. Havent had it backfire since! We think the sping(s) started to float at higher rpm and higher boost.

Still having boost creep issues. Hooked up compressed air to the gate and it opens. We connected line from compressor to bottom port of the gate, still creeps. Hitting 21.5 psi unexpectedly needs to stop!

Ordered a precision 66mm wastegate, hoping to get it friday.

We are just about finished doing 4" aluminum exhaust to dump prior to the axle, ill post up pictures this weekend.

Nice build and numbers!

You are supposed to mount that AC delete from the inside of the car, looks MUCH better that way.

Thanks.
Wouldn't that require removing the dash? Also wouldnt that be tricky to modify your heater fan plenum? Yuk! Id recommend it this way for ease, cant really see it back there anyway. Maybe its easier than i think but it worked out very well from the engine bay side.

Still working out the issues with the build.

Sick of the boost creep, so I ordered a Precision 66mm wastegate. See comparison to the JGS 50mm gate that came with the kit.

It barely fit, but it did!

Guess what....creep is fixed. I installed the Yellow and Green gate springs that came with the gate. That is rated for "8.1 psi". It makes 6.6psi and with my EB2 controller i have ran up to about 19psi.

Still having misfiring issues and backfire at higher boost in 3rd gear. Working through that now. Start with replacing crank sensor and double checking wiring.
Next will be cam sensor, not sure after that....

I also installed 4" aluminum exhaust with a 4" vibrant aluminum muffler. For now it dumps before the axle. Still kinda loud, might tie into existing magnaflow for the meantime.

You can see the 2-1/4" gate dump, that thing is huge! Love it.

The single 16" spal fan i have been using doesnt quite cut it, temp creeps up to 215 and above during idle. Highway temps are fine. After i upgrade my speed inc alternator and get decent voltage and capacity i plan to add a 2200cfm derale pusher on the passenger side of the radiator. I would have one pusher and one puller on opposite sides of the radiator with a little bit of overlap.

Thanks, thats about all you hear once it opens up! I am used to it, would be wierd if I dumped it into the exhaust.

I am looking forward to be able to enjoy and drive it, just gotta work through the issues.

Did you move the actual wastegate location or just put on a new wastegate? It looks like the boost creep has more to do with the location than the size of the wastegate IMO.

We first tried moving the gate, to where it was roughly 45 degree angle with the flow of exhaust. It used to have to take 2 90 degree bends. The creep was still present, not as bad but still was there.

Got sick of it and put 66mm in, no more problems.
