Default Pre-Blower #'s

Just got back from the shop and I have some numbers for the MMS 427 pre-F1R. The compression is pretty low - 8:1, the TB and fuel system are still stock and the tune was minimal. M6. Cutouts were open. My car was wearing a set of Nitto 315/35R15 DRs. Stock rearend and gears.

468.5 RWHP
470.8 RWTQ

I'm pretty excited about the numbers especially since the CR is so low. It's going to the track tomorrow night so I'll post the numbers on Saturday.

Once I put around 1000 miles on it we are putting on the F1R, a monster air/air intercooler, SMC Alky kit, and all the other fun stuff.

Damn that's some nice numbers for the cr... sounds like a stout motor. But isn't that AF ratio a little scary?

Nice numbers, but I'm with Sloth, I wouldnt race that until you get it tuned. I wanna check that setup out when you get it finished; especially the intercooler and alky kit.

Nice numbers but WAY lean up top. You have more power in it for sure. What cam size?

They did say they were going to do some tweaking to the air/fuel before they went to the track today. They mentioned those #'s were bad due to something with the cutouts . The 12-bolt goes in today, as well.

The cam, unless they changed it again on me, is 236/244 .602/.612 115LSA.

Can't wait to drive this (and break in that Stage 5 Spec clutch)!

Thanks!

I think we are going to start around 16 and push it as far as we can - maybe ending up around 20 or so...

yes LEAN. watch out for MMS. Word on the street is they are known to lean things out for big dyno #'s at the expense of customers engines. Make sure they tune it on the conservative side. Especially when you slap the blower on it. Don't allow anything higher than 12:1

Nice engine numbers, you will fly with the right blower configuration.

I am 11:1 AF at WOT on blower.

Thanks for the heads up. I've heard about this from other posts, as well. I'll make sure we stay safe... Don't wanna loose this engine too soon!

Just got back from the track (my first time ever). My times sucked (but man was it fun) but Robert, the guy building my car, ran a 11.61 @ 119. Not too bad. We were on a set of 28x12.5x15 ET Streets @ 10 psi but we still had traction problems - we're going to bolt the tires and see if that helps. We were also having some suspension & clutch/tranny issues which will get cleared up before the next session. Hopefully we (by we I mean Robert) can get some low 11's.

I have to say I have a WHOLE lotta respect for you guys running good numbers. It's harder then it looks - especially with a 6-speed and a helmet on!

And no, I'm not going to post my numbers - if I did that I'd get banned from this site! My biggest problem is that I slowed down before the 1/4 ended - pretty stupid... But hey, practice makes perfect!

Your times will get better for practice, but it will make it a lot harder for you once that blower gets on there.......... 6-speeds take a lot of practice at the track.....

I'm running those tires as well, I hope they hook off the T-brake..........

I agree, I wann hit the track many times before the blower goes in... I think we may rent the track for a day. The Stage 5 clutch will take a bit getting used to (first time driving with the new clutch, too). We are going to swap out the 6 speed and go with a built TH400 in the not so distant future...

You will like the TH400 a lot better for the track..........

I miss my 6-speed though for those highway blasts........
