My car is a garage queen that is never driven in the rain, so no water problems here.

The elbo is a 1-1/2" pvc pipe and the rubber couplers all came from home depot. The 2 filters and the plumbing supplies cost me just under $100.

It's a tight squeeze but with my air pump gone it's not too bad removing and reinstalling.

Unfortunatly I have had this problem. The car was ok cruising but if I ever came close to getting out of vacume it got pissed...quick lol...I dried the filter out and all was well. It was a really bad freak storm a while ago....I had to drive 40 as to not hydroplane lol. I've driven it in the rain since then...it hasn't happened again...I think it was the fact that there was A LOT of water on the roadway

Is that the same big filter that Bob used to sell at EPP?

I think it's a little shorter, but the 5" base and 4" top was close to that one. I ordered the truck hat and the bigger filter from bob when he was at epp and I couldn't get either to fit with the twin intercooler plumbing. So after some reading in the FI section I decided to add the small filter and get the biggest one I could fit in the wheel well.

conan - Thanks for the information and model numbers. I'm going to order the larger filter and give it a try. Hopefully it helps out.

No problem.
If your on the big red race by pass I would recomend the little filter on the hat too. My little filter gets just as dirty as the big one, so it's helping in the quest for air flow in to the head unit.

Also good to know. I'll do this when I upgrade my BPV.

Hello,

May I ask what kind of IAT's you see with this setup? I have considered something like this, but am seeing 20+ ambient with the filter in the engine bay and no airbox.

It didn't get driven on the street much after we went to the narrower radiator. It should of been able to handle the 35 mile True Street cruise without a problem. I don't know how much the new owner has driven it this year, and I don't know if he gets on here at all. Bob
