Yeah I have both! I can tell you that Aster's bracket has way more belt wrap than the SDCE setup. I did have a few belt alighnment issues I went through about 5-6 belts before I got it right and it seems to be working great. Although you are only running a D1 so either one will suit your needs. The F series blowers really put a lot of stress on belts which makes it that much more critical. The D1 is no problem to max out with either set up. GL!

Yea both setups look nice.

Also I believe Aster's bracket allows for a 7.65 crank pulley without having to swap to a ls3 waterpump.

I have a sdce and so far so good. Haven't put many miles on it yet, but it's a huge improvement over the procharger 8 rib kit.

To be fair my setup does require the 05+ Corvette waterpump. I'll avoid making comparisons here though since the OP is looking for input from users.

i believe they are the same price. However with Asters bracket you have to also get the Corvette H2O Pump. You could of saved almost 100 on the SDCE on the GP but i think it just ended.

I've never had SDCE but I do have Aster's. It's great and spins my F1A without problems. Before this, I had the standard 8 rib set-up with the extra idler mod. Aster's is worlds better compared to that since the belt doesn't have to be super tight all the time causing unnecessary wear.

Aster,

What kind of power are you putting down with your 383 and D1?

With a 3.85" head unit pulley it was making 13 psi and 675/605, through full exhaust, two cats, and two mufflers. I figured it was pretty decent given the pulley size and exhaust.

Dyno pic can be seen here.

I had since pulled the cats off and never got it back on the dyno. I expect it was close to 700. Then I found out my ring gap had been set to tight by the builder and one of them lifted and pealed half the piston off.

I'm currently rebuilding it with Wiseco pistons and a wider gap. I'm considering dropping the pulley size a little to see what it will make on 15 psi. I didn't do the 3.4" because the last had unit I had (a used P1) died on the dyno with it, and I was trying to avoid pushing too far on my street car. Lessons learned, stuff will break anyway and always double check someone else's work.

With the SDCE setup do you have to buy a bracket and send it to them? If thats the case then the 2 kits are about the same in price.

I've never had any belt slip with my SDCE, well worth the money. Aster's tensioner looks sweet as well. I don't think you'll be disappointed either way you go.

More than likely if you going with the SDCE you probably already have a stock J-Braket and thats what you send to them...

Aster's Bracket i beleive is a New bracket so in essense you can sell the stock one....

I believe so. Just another outlet to sell it through.
