Well I can get a free disassembled 5.3 short block....so I'm really considering doing it now. 5.3L, MPT70, 317's, LS6 cam, ?? PSI, 6xx RWHP?? That sounds pretty darn enticing.

I'm not sure if that 70 will get y ou to the 600+ hp range but you'll get pretty damned close. if you assemble that 5.3 you chould consider building it with quality bearings and all ARP studs. worst case scenario you can use the ARP studs on your new motor.

Ive been kicking around the idea of an mpt76... but its mainly a street car and I wasnt sure how dropping to a 5.3L would affect it still getting into good boost levels without having to rev it to 6500+ RPM's, which I rarely do. Maybe I will just have to settle for a little less power to gain quicker spool at the "street" RPM's I mostly see using a smaler turbo.

the 70 and 76 will spool the same because they are the same .96 housing. i have a .96 AR TC76 and it's pretty much INSTASPOOL. just keep the 70. plus how often are you in the 5k+ range with your car? if you get bored with the 70 then hell a PT88 should work in the same spot just change the downpipe and rip.
