Default D1sc 630 Rwhp

WEll dynoed the 346 with a D1SC yesterday and it pushed 630 RWHP on pump gas and only 15lbs of boost. We were smoking the tires in 4th gear and had to have people sit on the back of the car. We ran out of injector though. I've got 50lb's in there in the duty cycle of the injector is maxed out. We're thinking about going to 72's and seeing if we can hit 700 RWHP on Pump Gas (93 Octane) with the D1SC. Also currently not running the small pulley either so the boost should be able to be turned way up. I think on some race gas and small pulley it should do well over 700 RWHP.Not bad for a D1SC huh. No belt slippage issues at all.

72's with a low impedance box?

Numbers sound very promising.

C5's have a different setup, he is probably using A&A Corvette's setup.

Sorry for the long time no post! This was on a 01 Z28 I just finished up. It's a GWP kit, only like 7 made. There is no way for the belt to slip, it's a cutom 8 rib setup. It has a LS1 speed inc cam, I think the numbers are around 227/230 range, 690ish lift. I can't remember. CR is around 9:1. We could have pushed it and made more power but since the car is daily driven we didn't want to run into any problems with the owner hurting something.

GWP has been around a while doing this setup.

You won't get belt slippage on a dyno like you will with MT/ETs out back. Until there is a load on the motor...dynos (248 dynojet) will not load the motor like street driving will. I had this much rwhp on my C5 over 1 year ago...it was great on the dyno...and even on the street when shod with street tires...put some MT/ET slicks on the car and the belt slips all over the place..that was with a 6 rib though...with the 8 rib you stand a way better chance...let us know how you do out on the strip...good dyno numbers though.

It had three pullies, i'm using the middle sized one. I never really looked at it or measured it but it looks to be bigger then 3" for sure, not small at all. I've got a LS1 speed aluminum tank, SX fuel pump, 10 AN lines to Y to 8 AN Speed Inc Rails, to Speed Inc adjustable regulator, and 6 AN return. IT will probably need a bigger fuel pump also.

Yup thats my car , I am to say the least very pleased. The car is sooo much fun on the street. It nails a little over 15# with no effort. Rick Forgot to mention it also has a griffin front mounted intercooler that helps a bit. Jayson's tune was on the money so I have to say thanks to him and Mike @ MTI for being so helpfull. Will try to post some pics as soon as the 18" FM5 fikse s arrive.
Thanks for all the compliments , I think the car is more of a testiment to Ricks creative problem solving because the kit was modified many times through the install. I guess Rick has a few more favors coming his way.

Someone post the dyno sheet, i would like to see how the D-1SC looks like at 600+rwhp. Did u guys buy a kit to convert the kit to a FMIC or just fabricated the FMIC to fit?

Rick....wondering what the base fuel pressure is? Using stock fuel system at 58psi? Rising rate regulator? I just wonder if the 50# injectors would be adequate if the base pressure is lowered to 43psi (rated pressure) and use a rising rate regulator.

The issue with starting at 58psi and rasing FP with boost is that you run the injectors at 70+psi under that much boost. Well that will always max them out. Is dropping the base FP an option?

BTW...nice job

don't you get more flow thru an injector with higher fuel presure? seems like you are talking about the fuel pump. from what i understand you will get more flow from your pump if you have big lines and drop the presure some. more fuel thru the injectors with more presure though.

with that said if he is going with REAL big injectors then droping the base presrue would get the fuel pump he has now to go a little farther. i just might not understand your question but it kind of made me wonder if i understand the whole thing.

Yeah it's set at 58 psi and running a raising rate regulator. That could be an option.

I used to run mine at 43 psi and let the regulator increase the pressure under boost. This way the injectors only see 58 psi at 15# of boost and are not pushed as hard. It will also be easier for the pump. With edit, you can set the injectors to run at 43psi with no issues. That is what most of them are rated for anyway.

Rick what rate rising Reg. are you using?? I was also wondering about what Todd(Reckless) was asking. I want to run a rate rising Reg. and use 57# injecters. Thanks
Kyle
