The Z06 and ZR1 have completely different frames than the Z51/grandsport. They are made out of aerospace aluminum, where the Z51 and grandsport is a mix of aluminum and other metals. Also youre getting the carbon brakes, and carbon fiber body panels on the ZR1, not to mention all of the upgraded suspension parts....

im surprised they let them run. at our track you couldn't run those times with out a cage.

both are very impressive cars though. i think the caddy is pretty cool though i take that over the vett. i mean how many caddies are you going to run into that are that fast LOL

but bro its a ZR1!!! plus screws suck (in the most inefficient way possible) and the Z51s dont have the ZR1 badge.

They are not lightweights like the Z06....then add TTs and the associated Stainless plumbing...and maybe a full sized driver, 3800# no problem.

The car in stock form weighs like 3350 plus 100 worth of turbo stuff and a 350# driver.

i did so research. somethings i didnt know the z06 and zr1 have different fames. i knew they did replace some panels with carbon fiber. the other vetts have steel frames.

in terms of suspension the grand sport and z06 are almost identical. The z51 shared a lot of the suspension parts.

i dont see the big deal with carbon brakes. i mean i get they are lighter but i dont think its a make or break on a car.

the grand sport weighs in at 3311 and the Z06 weights in at 3175 a 136 pound difference not really killer weight difference.

im sure the guy bought the zr1 and pushed the supercharger as far as it would go then when he realized its limitations he moved on to turbos. i still stand by my statement wouldn't you be better off with a grand sport. i mean dam you would have another 50-60k to play with in part. i think if your going to go all out on the vett the grand sport would be the way to go.

The beauty of gutting the supercharger is that it still allows them to use the intercooler that is built into that assembly. There is a water cooled intercooler sandwiched in there. So now they are just blowing air through the supercharger housing into the intercooler from the turbo's. I see that as a win, win.

Not sure what wheel and tire it was. It was a drag radial but real low profile.

I think the whole Blower is gutted even the intercooler ..
I could be wrong though.
