Wow, 9 and 600hp on a stock shortblock is extremely impressive, especially if it holds together.

Sorry for the hi-jack OP, the heads that were on my car were bone stock but they were a 317 truck head.

you are talking about the ones that say FTP on them or a different set. you told me that your friend ported them and they flow over 300. in all the pics they look to be the exact same heads i was asking you about when i was at your shop that night

What's it matter. Anthony has claim to the stock SHORT BLOCK RECORD. Hell if he wanted to run AllPro heads he could.

Dave's car is a beast! It has HUNDREDS of drag strip passes on it. His 9 second pass is even more impressive because he drove it there on the stock six speed shifting gears. He doesn't even have valve springs and pushrods (as Chris noted); just headers, methanol, a D1SC... but he does have an LS6 not an LS1.

Not a record but another car I tuned that was fast on a stock bottom end (and an LS1 in this case) was Randy Robertson's 00 C5. It went like 9.7x-9.8x at 140.5 MPH with 317 heads, EPP "FI" cam, TTi X kit and 9psi.
