Default which fans??

I have the conventional griffin rad that everyone uses and a single 16" spal pusher fan, and once i do street driving the ect just keeps creeping until it hits 240 and i shut it down and let the electric wp and fan run till its back down to 190ish
On the highway its stays cool, about 190

It's apparent that i need a dual pusher fan setup, but i dont wanna waste time and money on something thats not the best...so if all u front mount guys with the griffin wanna wanna help out please post up your efficient setup

Btw i am in nyc, its been hot lately, about 90's but it still shouldnt be overheating

Thanks

I use twin darale 13inch (i think) they flow 4000cf. They were 269.99 I think on summit. They only work as a puller tho.

My car runs usually 180* up to 195* depending on how hot and bc I do not have a deflector anymore since the rad has been custom mounted.

I use a griffen 27.5x19x3(2.25 core)

Have any pics of ur setup, i definately cant fit a puller cause theres not enough clearance between the rad and turbo, but i seen a flexalite dual fan with shroud that moves 3000cfm's and cost $350. From jegs, i believe they are the 490 partnumber on flexalites page

Pretty cool setup, ya i mounted my intercooler about where ur radiator is...

I found some nice pusher fans, but is it better to mount them directly to the radiator or better to have a shroud, cause i would think that by putting a shrould on a pusher fan you would block alot of natural airflow

maradyne puller fan or pusher, that's what i run, with a front mount turbo w/ a/c. my other fan runs from a toggle switch. either fan can keep my car cool, around 190 to 210, in mid summer heat (around 100 degrees on the hot days down near new orleans). the maradyne fan with a speed control module out of jegs is like peaches and cream.

I think im gonna get the flexalite 290 series dual 12" fans with shroud for $350. from jegs....

after some reading it seem like it gets better airflow across the entire rad rather then mounting the fns directly on the rad and only concentrating the air in one spot

stock radiator, not the griffin, but i use these derales. i believe they are rated at like 2000 cfm a piece

been between 90-100 degrees and the car runs around 200-205 in stop and go traffic

Ya but it might be cause those are 14" each and that rad is bigger than the griffin so u have more cooling surface, i run a single 16"spal right now that is right up on the rad right now no im losing alot of surface area, and im hoping going with that dual 12" setup with the shroud so that i can utilize the whole radiator surface for heat transfer, plus im sure that single spal isnt anywhere close to 3000cfm like the dual setup is

mine are 12"s, they should fit on the griffin with little overhang

i was always under the impression on a pusher setup you do not want a shroud as it becomes a restriction at speed

Ya i can see the shroud causing a somewhat of a restriction at higher speeds, but atleast all the air from the fans is being distributed upon the entire radiator instead of concentrated area, i have a problem overheating when im not on the highway, and its good to let the fans overhang the radiator because then u loose alot of ur cfm's through those gaps

Tally TA do you have a part number by chance? i just changed my set up with a stock radiator and a flex-a-lite 180 covered all of rad. that would keep my car right at 180-190 no matter the out side temp. no i have no room so i need a low profile fan. and pushers. i have a spal 14" puller jammed in and it was 70 today at the temp would climb to 210.

I just ordered a few goodies from jegs yesterday, along with them i ordered the jegs dual 12" pusher fan with shroud for $210. and they are good for
2600cfm's, I ordered these ones because they are only 3 5/8" thick and i could't fit the flexalite extreme pushers that flow 3000cfm's cause they were 4" plus they were $315....

so ill see how they work, ill keep you updated for whoever is interested
