Default 01 Z06 cam vs 02+ Z06 cam`

Is there enough difference inbetween the 2 z06 cams to worry about on a forced induction setup? Of course one is bigger, but I can find the 01 cam a dime a dozen, the 02+ cam is more than I can purchase the new ls9 cam for.

the cam card's look close enough, but how about dyno and RPM's standpoint. I'm not planing on turning this thing up much more than 6200 rpms.

Well, the 01 Z06 was rated at 385hp and the 02 was rated at 405hp so figure roughly 20hp N/A...although I'm sure if they made any other changes that would affect output other than the cam.

Very true though, seems 02 LS6 cams are hard to come by anymore. They get snatched up in a heartbeat.

My weapon of choise is my 215/230 .600 methanol injection blower camshaft , idles like stock and made 740 rwhp @ 15 psi through 1.75 FLP headers and small 2.5 Y pipe and stock single 3" SLP SS duel/duel exhaust, very smooth and quite.

My LS2 is getting a simular cam 220/??? 6?? lift top secreat, also a cam to benifite a methanol injected motor running at 15-20% meth

whats one of the most important things IMOP is the negative overlap so there is no boost bleed,
The Z06 cam is good but u can make another 40-60 HP with the right cam, FI doesnt need a lot of intake duration, and benifites a lot from a lot of exhaust duration, When methanol fuel comes into play, intake temps are decreased causing a dense air fuel mixture, this cool dense charge will fill the cyclinder fast so a lot of intake duration is not needed. Exhaust temps are also cooler from bruning methanol, slowing down exhaust velosity/speed a bit , this is where a little extra exhaust duration is very nessary will deffently help make more power. IMOP more exhaust lift helps too.

Your getting ripped off, I've had friends buy them for 100 and less, just like me. They are used stock cams which means they aren't worth much.

I couldn't agree more with this statement, along with all the other used parts getting sold, I always offer what I think is fair to low, it they take it, it's fine. There's deals out there, just gotta shop.
