Default Video of dyno run, and dyno sheet! TC78 + 404ci

So Im sure a few of you have seen my sticky on how to build a truck manifold kit: https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...ifold-kit.html You can check that out for more info on the motor and the build.

Well here is and updated video of a dyno pull and a picture of the dyno sheet!

A little info on the setup. This is basically a daily driver. I wanted something that spooled instantly on the street. The cam was designed with that in mind, and i went with a fully CNC'd head but w/ a 215cc runner to keep the port velocity up for good low and midrange power... the engine is a 404 iron block and is fully forged with all the goodies.

car is a 6-speed Hardtop Z28 with a 9" Moser with 3.50 gears (i like my top speed). I had been driving through LA traffic all day for work, got to the shop, strapped it on the dyno, and it made 612rwhp and 666rwtq! it was about 90 degrees in the shop. Then i drove home in 100 degree weather in stop and go traffic for another hour

oh yeah I forgot... that was 12psi.

The motor will handle some pretty high horsepower, I just need to switch turbos. The one I have now doesnt make huge top end.

Im even thinking about buying a spare turbo, and swapping them out when i go to the track. 78 for the street, and a big 88 or something bigger for the track

Very nice torque but by the shape of the graph, that turbo is all done before 5K RPM.

nice numbers, it seems like turbo cars always make insane torque numbers. any track times yet?

hopefully my TC78 with my 370 won't be the same... I plan on just straight highway runs ;-)

what AR exhaust housing ?

I have a 1.32 on a 383 and it keeps making power to the limiter 6700rpm, would fall over at 5k with a .96 ar.

I think the turbo is pretty much done on my car at 17.5 psi though, if i up the duty cycle on the boost controller i get no increase in boost.

still the turbo suits an M6 car that is 90% street driven with minimal lag between shifts.

Yeah I agree, but I dont mind it like that for a street car. It could def use a bigger tturbo at the track though! We turned up the boost a little on the dyno and it didnt help much since it was chokeing prob due to backpressure.

get the biggest ar housing you can get, you won't be sorry,
mine spools just as quick as it did with the .96ar and is much better at the top end.
