i have plans on getting a 4"Magnaflow on my Chevelle just to quite it down a little. It doesnt take too much to quite a turbo car.

I'm part and partial to borla pro xs.

I have them on several of my vehicles and they are not loud and dont drone at highway speeds.

If you're turbo, the turbine will reduce some of the noise.

i ran a dynomax ultraflow 3" for a little while. sounded nice, very tame until WOT. lost a little power with it so i took it off and im back to open downpipe

its for sale if anyone wants it

i might go with one of the vibrant race mufflers just to get the tone a little deeper.

cant see losing too much power through a muffler thats only 5" long

Hooker maxflow tested out as one of the quietest mufflers and also one of the best powerwise in a big muffler test I read recently. I have a set to put on my pickup but haven't got around to it yet.

I've got a 4" borla xr1. I'm currently not boosted, but I know it helped a ton going from a spintech to this bad boy. It's actually quoted than the spintech except when you lay into it. It's a straight through design. I got the 18" version because that's how long the spintech was...but they make much shorter versions.

If its a street car, I'm still a fan of a quieter catback and an electric cutout somewhere in the downpipe. Best of both worlds.

Yep - I've got a 18" glass pack with a 3" open diameter - the car is now quiet enough that I can enjoy my CDs again.

I was going to mention something right along those lines. You can keep it as quite as you want and then with the flip of a switch have your power right back.

Haha that's funny. I run the stock slp y2k muffler with cutouts up front. Its almost as quiet as stock then loud when the cutouts are open.

IMO, the best one is something REALLY quite, like magnaflow or whatnot, and then use a E-cutout on your I-pipe. Best invention evar.
