Default Project: TURBO :)

Hey i guys id really like to put a turbo on my 98 Z so i thought id turn it into a winter project since ill b driving my blazer but im on a budget because of college i only want to spend 1000$ on parts (not labor) so unless i can put that into different performance parts for more power what is the best way to do this? i was looking into the truck manifold kit/modular turbo thing but i don't know so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

x2. Even with a $600 turbo, you wont get all your piping, truck manifolds, and couplers for $400, even without an intercooler

Hate to stick another fork in your project but you can't even buy all your parts used for $1k.
You should definitely look into the price of the parts first and then decide if turbo is the route for you.
I'd say expect anywhere from 2500-3500. This may not include certain tools needed like a tap and die set for the oil drain and feed. You can definitely find a cheap tap and die set but this takes away from your $1K budget.
I'm not boosted yet but I have been doin a ish load of research on what it would take to get there and stay there reliably.

24v for extra boost OMG

you can spend 1k in a fuel system to support a turbo system if you're not careful.

this cant be a serious thread. lol. maybe if you got a cheap PTK kit and a free turbo along with a free tune and lots of "charity" then it could be done.
