Default dyno'd the turbo ta today

Finally got my turbo ta tuned today. For anyone that hasn't follwed the build threads the run down is.

Mwc everything, fab 9, drc th400, forged 370, 317 heads and a home built turbo kit with a precision 76 mm on it.

Car made 590 to the wheels between 9 and 10 psi! i am very happy with the results. The fuel pressure was falling off from 60 to 44 At these levels, and i ran out of injector. I need to get the fueling issue worked out, i believe its because i only have 1 hotwire kit powering 2 walbro 255's.

Anyways We turned it down a little to 9 psi, and the car made 576 whp @ 17 degrees of timing. There is alot left in it, and we will be pushing to atleast 15 psi in a couple weeks.

We plan on going to the track and running it @ the 576 hp next weekend, just to get a couple test passes done.

Thanks, Chris

110. I dont plan on street driving. the fuel pressure being to low is why we ran out of injector, not the gas. But i might of went down a country road and went through 1st and 2nd. Holy Crap, and amazingly it hooked!

How much hp did you make? your 1/8 works out to about a 10.3 or so right?

Im very curious how fast i will go. The car should be pretty light.

Thanks, Chris

Never put it on a dyno, I had a single 255 and the 57# injectors and was running out of fuel pressure and injector when it went 6.59 in the 1/8 & yes I agree it should have been a 10.30. I was still running 4.10 gears then too. I now have a Magnafuel 4303 external pump, sumped a metal tank, ran bigger fuel lines, 83# injectors, & 3.50 gears, I plan on going back to the track next saturday and seeing if I can see some high 9's without blowing up my still stock LS1.

That would be awesome man. Im hoping for high 9's in my car with a built motor. It should weigh around 3100 without a driver, i think its should be do able.

I have stock tank but two walbro 255's, -8 feed, -6 return, with a precision boost ref regulator thats good to 1000 hp they say, speed inc rails, and the 60lb injectors.. There should be enough fuel to get the car dyno'ing into the 700's and the inectors will be the park holding me back.

Yeah the injectors are small for that kind of power. Your car should easily see 9's with no problem if it only weighs 3100lbs, mine weighs 3780 with me in it. Gotta put it on a diet, lol.

Good job on all the work to the car, I've followed the build thread and I like your work. Could you post up a dyno graph?

Thanks!

I didn't even have him print it, since i will be going back, and i didn't think upper 5's was that amazing. I know the car should be upper 600's or low 700's when i can get the fuel, and the boost to where it should be. I will make sure i get a graph the next time i go there.

Thanks for all the comments guys, means alot!

Before we really attacked the weight, it was about 3430 wet with no driver. I now have an iron block, and cage, but we took alot of weight out. Other then lexan, the pass seat, and some vfn stuff, i dont see anyway to get anymore weight out of it.

i will make sure i get it on the scales when i go to the track.

Well, i wasnt asking for that reason, im wondering why you are loosing fuel pressure with 2 walbros at less then 600whp. thats what i was getting at, not the quality of the fuel.

Thats a lot better than I'm doing, I still have everything including AC, the only thing I pulled for weight was the passenger's side air bag, that thing is heavy! Be sure to post up some vids of your car at the track, I'm sure its gonna fly.

The tuner called lonnies(sp) and he told him 1 power wire will do it. The regulator is boost ref, so as boost goes up the pressure tries to go up. As the pressure goes up, the pumps will draw more amps to try to pump that much. With only 1 hotwire kit lonnies said the voltage will fall into the 11's, and we will get the sympots we are getting. Its either that, or maybe a pump is on its way out, but they were both new.

Also remember, that 600hp on a th400 car is probably 700 on a t56 car. I am loosing alot of power with the th400, and 9 inch, but they usually go really fast with low number.
