wastegate size
Im running a LS3/T-56 and t-78 w/ 1.15 split exhaust housing. Compression is ~10.5:1 so im only planning on running around 8lbs through it. I was thinking I would need to go with a fairly large gate to keep boost creep down, but not sure how big. And wondering if by going big, will it be hard to run 12+ lbs on race gas or will I be fine going up to higher boost as well? I dont really intend to run more than 8lbs but everyone on here seems to say that and then go bigger so im just curious.

JGS seems to be the cheapest of the premium gates and my personal favorite. I think that the 50mm and the 60mm are almost the same price. If so, go to the bigger one. I had to use a 60mm on mine as my wastegate is in just about the worst possible location (180* out from the exhaust flow).

I was looking at the JGS stuff from forced inductions and thinking 50mm WG and 56mm BOV. Is there much chance of going too big on the WG? The JGS 60mm is another $130, if it cant hurt going too big I may go that route.

lol good question. My merge right before the flange at the turbo is going to be pretty damn short and im going to have to wedge it in there somehow... I would love have a few more inches in the merge to do it but no go,my only other option is a small gate on a bend coming from each bank and that would be a pain in the *** as well.

My only concern with going too big was if I decide to up the boost later, but I guess I will just cross that bridge when I get there. I was thinking a huge gate would dump too fast if I was to shoot for 12lbs+ but since I started building shooting for 8lbs ill stick with it
