LS2 alum block or 6.0 iron block will open up your options for better/larger valves that will flow more. Stock crank is good for 1000rwhp. Put your money in a set of aftermarket heads that have a thicker deck and some forged rods/pistons.
Stock LS6 intake and ported TB can support 1000rwhp. Get some 103# high impedance injectors and you can run your stock PCM.
