Default Best 4 bolt head

needing some input on heads for an iorn block build. I know AFR's and TFSs have good thick decks, and ive heard nothing but good about the PI heads, but what about the World Warhawk LS1x heads or Pro 1 Darts? are there any other options out there? also i need 70-72cc combustion chambers

What about Allpro or ETP? Those would be my first choices.

everyone afraid of the procomp heads? read an hotrod mag article with back to back to back testing with several head brands and the procomps whooped ***, way better flowing head than the competition , which is pretty strange to say the least.

Its all about if you are leaving the heads out of the box or having someone work on them. I know that the all pro as cast heads like I have can be gotten very reasonably and with a fairly minimal amount of work you have a screaming thick deck 4 bolt head.

WCCH, AllPro, ETP, AFR, MAST, TEA/TFS, all have good heads but your best bet is to get in contact with Shawn at VA speed or Kurt Urban or Briggs they'll set you up with a good set of heads.

Those new AFR's seem to be working well. Their customer support is second to none as well. They are also a direct bolt in replacement that does not require aftermarket rockers. Mine have been to hell and back with me. The only way taht I would buy anything else is if I was building an all out race setup. I'm talking 1500+ hp.

This may be the right place at the right time.
I am switching to 6 bolt heads this winter and will be selling my heads. They are the TEA stage three that are made from AFR castings. They have the big spring pockets. I could sell them with stock style comp 921 springs or the big springs with over 200# on the seat. With or without jessel rockers. PM me if interested. http://www.totalengineairflow.com/pr...gmhead/afrall/

looking to upgrade my heads as well. I too have heard great things about etp heads. All the etps I have seen however have been milled to 60cc or lower. Wont quite work for my setup. How do the new PI heads compare in you guys opinion? If you guys had a choice would you go PI or AFR? Also what do you guys think about the PRC 227?

Maybe I was looking at the wrong heads, but a few people have mentioned that the All Pro heads are well priced, but the only ones I saw were over $3000. I would love to find a thicker decked head that flows well for about $2000- $2500 complete with valves and springs and I would prefer to be able to use the stock rockers.

If you can't put something together with Koolrayz, which you should as long as they are in good shape and haven't been milled to death, AFR heads come in 72cc. Just pm Tony Mamo @ AFR and ask him where to buy them.

I think that a new set of AFR 230's sell for about $2500 retail. I believe that the comparable TFS is at about the same price point but they require rockers. Everyone else is more money in the premium CNC heads.
