Default h/c recommendations for maggie ls2

Okay this is for a friend who isnt on tech so im trying to help him finish his car.

car is a 06 GTO w/ maggie @ 5psi w/meth, full exhaust, centerforce clutch and intake boltons yada yada.

He is pushing water and is tearing the top end apart to put new head gaskets on, change his blower gears and pulley and going to an 8" balancer. His old man got on board and set he is down to help with a h/c swap while he is at it. He thinks his heads might be a little warped so rather than spending money to have them decked and p/p he is going to replace them.

Hed love to go with AFRs but the budget really isnt there. He was hoping that a sponsor would have a good ported head/blower cam setup that came with pushrods and new sprigns and stuff to start everything fresh.

If anyone has any recomendations that would be amazing, i dont know much about f/i so i turn to you guys

His GTO has a 10.9- 1 compression. If he is changing pullies to spin faster, then he should go with LQ9 heads. The are 72cc, it will drop compression to about 9.9-1.

try www.texas-speed.com >>>>>>>>>>

Look for there PRC 6.0 heads

If he is going to stay with the 112 he needs to keep the CR up since that blower wont be able to feed 364CI up top without crazy IATs. Honestly he doesnt even need the IW setup to turn that 112 into a torch. Now if later on he might switch to a 2300 then Id go with a set of WCCH 317s milled a little with a .04 gasket for better quench and a 226/236 on a 115ish. Those are all just general specs, really depends on if he might upgrade to a diff blower later. A 112 spun up is only going to be good for 10ish psi on a H/C LS2 but you will be pulling some crazy timing due to high IATs. Id be surprised if you got out of the single digits on timing.

yes he is planning on staying with the 112, he is one of my best friends, but he is one of those look at me im cool i have this and this and this. He is a good driver/racer which is the only reason i help him, but he just kinda throws everything together.

since reading these threads he was thinking of going with the PRC 6L heads, a 225/230 with .61X if i remember on a 114 with new pushrods springs yada yada. Going 1.1 on the blower gears and going with an 8-10 psi pulley up front

ASK the guys at Texas speed when you order what the best set up would be, Don't just order heads on-line.

The best heads in the world aren't going to add much power if he stays with the 112 Maggie. With very much cam, he'll have to spin the snot out of it to see much over 6 to 7psi. Snot spinning a 112 = ridiculously high IAT's as 1Slow mentioned.

With WW fluid injection, the MP122 in my signature sees 180 degree IAT's on a 90 degree day. 2.6" snout pulley and 8.5psi. I have a 2300 TVS on order.
