383 + 2 x gt4788 =....
Gday guys,
I am almost finished with my 427 and 106mm build and have some spare parts that never got used or i changed the direction of the previous build.
Im looking to just have some fun and build something that i can just mess around in and have fun.
I have a fully built 383 LS1 that has been built to handle around 1000hp as it was my previous motor and had only done less than 5000 miles.
2 garrett gt4788's with .96 ar and a huge selection of fuel components, and intercooler cores laying around so i wouldnt have a huge outlay of money to start another play car.
Do you think the littlle 383 could spin the 47's up?
Im happy to use a bit of NOS and understand that i could make similar power with a single 47 but i have 2 spare and might aswell use whats there instead of leaving it in the garage to be forgotten about.
Cheers.

Just one GT 47-88 is more than capable to scatter your 1000 hp short block. You're looking at 130-140 lbs/min depending on how much boost. Late Model Racecraft runs two GT 47-88's on their drag radial car, it makes 2500-2800 horsepower. By the time you actually spool two of these turbos your powerband is going to be very short unless you are spinning it 8000-9000 rpm.

I completely understand that it is going to be a pig to drive and wont be on boost until over 4-5000rpm. If it was to make boost around 5000-5500 rpm i would do it just for a laugh and to get some funny looks.
Im not out to shatter horsepower records im just looking at a cheap fun project as i have 80% of the things needed already.
if it was to make 800hp through a th400 i would be happy with that because the car i plan on throwing it in only weighs 2400lbs stock.

Looks good on a dyno sheet.
