Default which ATI kit to choose.

I am looking at running about 5-8 pounds of boost.I have a 2000 Camaro Z28.
I have ported heads that flow at 270 at 550, PI Vig 3200 TC, 373 gears an A4, LS6 intake and a Shaner S2 ported TB.

I am looking to get to 550 rwhp and torque and run 10s all day.

Here is what I have on my shopping list so far.

HO Intercooled Tuner's Kit - D1SC LS1 F-body*
42 LB Injectors
227/223 .575/.576....115+2 LSA

Do I need a different fuel pump?

What are you guys running?

Thanks

P1 kit. Change the drive system. MMS 7.85 pulley. 3.85 blower pulley.
Cam 222/230 114 (or something like that. Avoid the reverse split on the supercharger.)

Oh yeah and HEADERS. Getting the exhaust gasses out of a FI car is just as important as getting the boost in.

You'll make anywhere from 520 to 570 with that setup.

Good Luck,
Kevin

I would go with the D-1SC blower or upgrade to the F1 if you want to run big boost in the future......

D1SC with the new 8 rib setup should be the ticket!

Definately go with the D-1SC! This will work the best with your mods and give you plenty of room to grow into it. The 8 rib option would also be a good choice but not necessary. You will need an in-tank or in-line fuel pump to go along with the kit.

Get the D-1SC.... I suggest u look for another cam with a higher exhaust duration than intake and keep the same lift and LSA. U will need a fuel pump also.

Default charger

the P-1 kit is a lot cheaper kit. It is good up to 700-800 rwhp. once you are getting more than that, you are starting to chance the strength of the charger. until then, you sont need the D-1. Pretty much the only thing different is the bigger intercooler, that way you can run back to back runs down the strip without running the chance of getting a big difference in a hotter charge of air.

Less than $300 difference in kit price! Well worth it!

Can you really make back to back runs on a D1 kit? I was told never to do back to back runs with a supercharged car.

The D-1 kit has a three core intercooler. I dont think that there is a track that you can run at that you wont have to wait in line for. three to four minutes would be plenty sufficient for charger and intercooler cool down. keep the engine running of course to circulate the oil and airflow.

I just picked up a D-1SC. Reason, if and when then motor goes, after the rebuild I can put more boost into it for more hp.

You can make back to back runs on a supercharged car. You probably won't go as fast on you second run though (especially with the ATI intercooler setup). But it isn't going to kill the car.

Actually, in over 100 passes with an LS1 ATI between two cars the second pass is always the same or better IF you can come right around and wait very little for the next pass. Shutting down and driving back down the return road cools the IATs down to almost ambient.

Matter of fact last week i was able to hot lap the car for 4 passes, never had more then one car in front of me in staging, ran 7.28, 7.23, 7.25 abd 7.29 in under 4 minutes

Made 13 passes in about 1.5 hours, except for the 1st one that didnt hook at all (7.52 @ 96) I ran between 7.33 and 7.22 and always made 2 passes back to back..

Dont think I would try that with a non-intercooled vortech though.
