I made my own front mount. I used a CX Racing 4" core intercooler and aluminum piping, bought a race bypass valve and an aluminum flange. It wasn't hard to cut the piping with a chop saw with a high tooth blade, aluminum cuts very well. I then took the parts taped in the needed position to a buddy who actually knows how to weld aluminum which he did up for about a hundred bucks.

I laid my intercooler down flat because I didn't want to hack up the front bumper, which while isn't the most efficient type, it actually does pretty well since the air damn directs the air up and through the core. Some pictures of my first pipes can be found here.

No problem, I should note though that I kind of wish i had put the bypass valve in the passanger side fenderwell in the pipe just before the intercooler, mostly because of noise of the air dumping gets very loud where it is at. Also I had to adjust the driver's side pipes to make room for the truck inlet hat, I just don't have a useful picture of that part. But it comes off the IC and bends up, then I used a 90* coupler to attach it t a pipe that runs straight in front of the cruise control module and then bends 90* through the hole to the engine bay. Kind of hard to explain. I'll see if I can get a picture of it. It made a lot more room to fit various filter options in there.

Ive got the old EPP FMIC kit. Somebody needs to start making a FMIC kit. Yeah listen to Aster he has it down. You can build your own FMIC kit yourself and save some coin.

that a really interesting setup you got there, i just ordered my cx intercooler and was trying to figure out a way to not have to cut up my bumper, i like this idea i wish there was a way to find out if its still as efficient though

Does that horizontal mount block the radiator shroud? Does it cause the engine to overheat?

When you say you didn't want to cut your bumper up do you mean just the license plate area? Do you still have to cut up the bottom side of the bumper Aster? I have seen others that have done this and they still need to cut a large section of the lower bumper.

Yes, he's talking about cutting the license plate out and removing the fog lights. Also yes, going with a horizontal mount fmic would require cutting the very bottom of the bumper. It's a pretty good trade off if you don't want to do cutting where everyone can see it! Appearance meets performance kind of thing if only it doesn't cause any overheating issues this could be a perfect setup for us T/A guys! I seen one pic with 2 fans pushing into the intercooler from underneath, that could be the solution to keeping the engine temps down and the iat's.....
