What was it doing that was making you "think" it was the 3 bar? Also, would like to know what the "bug" in hp tuners ended being?

I'm having a huge problem with the tuning aspect. I have an APS kit with LG upgrades...so on and so forth.

I know you like to write and to keep from cluttering your thread, you can just PM me.

Any information/help would be very much appreciated. Can't wait to see some #'s!

well got the car back today. it only got tuned up to 16psi and put out 690whp and 604wtq. this was on pump gas only, no meth with the converter unlocked 18 degs of timing at peak power. so this is a good start for sure. im try to post up some of the print outs but im having no luck.
also the converter was flashing to 5000rpm in 3rd on the dyno so they started the pulls at 5200rpm, is this normal? need a tighter converter? he said it was spinning tires pretty hard on the rollers from trying to start at the low RPMs
going to call Yank tomorrow for some input as well

input please

I thought you would have put down bigger numbers then this Tom with 16PSI?
Mines at 650rwhp on 10psi springs right now , but boost gauge says it pegs at 11 psi
You have the LG turbos too right?
What bar map are you tunned with?

Heres mine at 10psi with the stock APS turbos before upgradeing to the LG turbos last summer and with a safe *** tune to boot meaning she's(running fat under boost). Look at this older dyno sheet here,,,, I thought you were running a 408 too i think,,, or was that Al thats got the 408??
Mines only a 364 too Geeze i would think 740 ish or so or even more on 16psi or even closer to 800hp with meth

Hey Barnat .
Was this mustang dyno Tom? Would think spinning would also make it hard to get good readings.

I had the 408 Ed. Tom has 402. Just heard from ERL today and my new superdeck 427 monster is ready to ship out! So with luck have car up by mid to end april. Was hoping for beginning but that don't look too likely. Renoing house right now and car is on back burner a bit.

That is unlocked converter and auto as well and not on meth so less timing.
And the spinning on the dyno and maybe mustang dyno they do read lower normally.

I just want to hit 800rwhp on mine for max street bragging rights and 1000rwhp for max dyno bragging rights. And would be super super happy to run virtually identical time to Toms 9.9x at 140 is plenty fast enough for me and car won't see track more than couple of times. Not into full cages or medicals every year just to go 9s and all that SFI stuff.

So you are driving your car around already Ed or will be shortly? We are getting some melting here and starting to see the nice cars come out. Was around 40 degrees or so here today.

If you read his sig, it shows his old numbers with the 346 and ALSO the new numbers for the 402. So really it is both...
good luck with the combo tom, I kno it will come together.

you guys need to listen to blue00zzleeper he knows my car very well.
1. it is only a 364cid
2. Ed your car was on a dynojet they read higher than a mustang dyno if i was on a dynojet dyno it would of been mid 700s easy
3. i have a man trans in my car 4L80. so that sucks up some power there
4. fix my sig as well
i did drive the car at the shop but there was no way i could get it to 16psi on the street. it just blows the tires off. im thinking it might be 3.08 gear time

You might want to consider xylene. I used it for years in my turbo Buick's back in the day. I started messing with alky back in the early 90s (windshield washer fluid lol) but when we were at the track I would just run xylene and pump gas. Alot of the Buick guys couldn't understand how I could run so much boost with no KR on pump gas
The best part is that you cant smell it like race gas. Just remember to add 4oz of marvel mystery oil per gallon because xylene doesn't have any lubricants in it.

Do some reserch on it. alot of the "experts" today dont even know about it but some of us older turbo Buick guys have used it for years. I have used it in alot of other cars also. My vortech 5.0 mustang,my 03 Cobra and every turbo Buick I have owned.

Converter flashing to 5000 is killing you. Thats why your torque is down

People pay attention........ Its a 364 ci forged motor , say it with me.

Unlocked converter is robbing 30-40 through a 4l80e.

And EVERYONE knows mustang dynos, Especially when you pass 600+ hp will show differences from a dynojet hat can be over 50+ hp. Trust me ive got many hours on both.

I say get a tighter converter for sure, you should only be flashing 3200, so you can actually use the torque then lock the verter, or get a converter you can lock. Cuz if not the "stick guys are gonna always have the numbers advantage. If your not worried bout the dyno numbers, the just hit the ole 1320 and toss those effin sheets

nice man. dyno numbers dont mean nothing. after i went from 410hp on motor to 430hp/470trq with 5psi on my procharged setup and gained a hole second. That made me believe just take it to the track lol.

went to the track a last week and it was a waste of time. the track sucked ***, it was cold and no sun. the best i did all day was 10.23@140 with a 1.63 60 foot. but it went 10.25@140 with a 1.93 as well so WTF and it was all on 13.5psi from what the eboost was telling me. also forgot the charger for the lab top so i couldnt even log anything. the track warned me 3 times before they said i was done. the tune down low is jack up im fixing that now and WOW thats heping alot. so more testing to come

Only low 10s.Still damn quick to me and would make me plenty happy . Obviously traction is the problem there mph is still real nice. 60fts make huge differences at the other end of the track. So now you have to do full cage and all that stuff or are the track days over now?It is such a pain to go into the 9s.

So did you get my last pm Tom? You noticed that little thing at the end of my sig! LOL
And if you go to my photo album you can check it out better. So now no matter what, one of my fun cars will be driveable.Leaving the new one bone stock. But keeping the crazy modded but still dead in garage 99TT. I must be a masochist or something!

Seriously you car is doing damn good these days. Mine should be up and running in month or so just depends how distracted I get with the new machine. And figure will be pretty distracted.
