Default Big Red BOV questions ?

I have a a d1sc twin intercooled setup on my z28 and am in the middle of winter upgrades. I am looking at purchasing a big red BOV. My question is how many guys are running a similar setup or have used a big red bov? And where did you put it? before plenun, after plenum? Pics would be greatly apreciated..

Put it anywhere you want. It's no different then any other blow off valve, it's just "Big" and "Red". lol

Here's a couple pics of the setups i've built with the big red procharger valve.

One is my turbo car and the other is a D1SC car.

Stand by... tech is being queer and wont take my D1SC pic

Running the bypass valve before the intercooler(s) keeps the compressed air from heating up the intercooler(s) until you want to build boost. Sometimes though, there just isn't enough room to mount the bypass valve ahead of the intercooler(s) and the only place to mount the bypass valve is after the intercooler(s). Another thing to consider is that when the bypass valve is mounted close to the ground, it is going to kick up a lot of dust when in the normally bypassed mode.
Here is a link to where I sell the ProCharger race valves.

yes, and that dust will eventually stick to your factory greased ati big red valves valve stem and make it not work and it will have some really funny compressor surge coming from your supercharger.

Hey Bob do you think it makes that big of a difference to mount it where you have it versus before the intercooler?

In theory it has to. Say you're driving your car an hour to the dragstrip, all of that compressed air is being routed through the intercooler as you're driving down the highway. I've never done and testing on the inlet air temps with a bypass valve being located before and after the intercooler, but it would make for an interesting test. A cool down though once you get to the track would lower the inlet air temps and you'd be good to go. Bob

So the intercooler would basically be heat soaked. Now that I think about it lol.
