You guys know how to get to work on something, the turbo/downpipes/A/W placement looks killer.

I'll be curious what it does as well in the TX Mile. It has a good aero cd.... and decent frontal area.

How does the Ford GT compare as far as aero cd and frontal area? That holds the record(s) thus far....

Does this block have piston oil squirters?

Yes. The engine is set up with piston oil squirters.

I was under the impression an UG Lambo holds the record at the mile.

I was also under the impression that no one considers the GT the fastest, because the timing setup at that event in Florida was screwed up. Giving out non-consistent readings, and many people recorded their cars picking up 10-20mph over normal. All I know is the GT guys brought their car to Texas in the fall and didn't even make a run..... .

Edit: Not wanting to say anything bad about them, because conditions weren't ideal. This springs event should be pretty sweet.

I was unaware of the timing issues. If so then you are correct. The Lambo did low 250s last spring I believe.

I want the record setting bike back out there without the nasty side wind.

250.1 for the Lambo, as listed on TexasMile.net. And x2 on the bike; you might see him getting in the 280's

I believe he said it went 240 at 3/4 of a mile with the old setup.

Tight work man. Should be a good time. Question, are those downpipes aluminum?

I was at that Miami mile event and the timing was definitely off. Our car went the same RPM thru the trap all 3 passes with no clutch slip and we got three totally different speed readings from official timing and scoring. It is too bad because the Miami facility is much safer than the Texas one.

It is about time someone put together a serious GM effort for this. Good job LMR/Kelly! Go get that record!

What sort of weight are you guys shooting for? From the pieces of the puzzle so far it looks like it is going to be a tank.

The weight will probly be around 3700 with me in it. But weight isnt as critical for this race. It is important but not like drag racing.

The engine is around 9.5 to 1

Can you give any advice to a 22 year old kid going to his first standing mile in march?

Im bringing my 99 camaro and I really wanna hit the 200 mark. Im about 800rwhp and 900rwtq and its geared to do it, but im really afraid of having the wheels perfectly balanced or like having like the fender rip off at 200mph.

I just dont know how important stuff like aerodynamics is on a f-bod. Ill be going to the Mojave Mile btw

You should be able to get it done. just make sure your tires are in good shape for the front, I run mickey thompson drag radials with great success. have them balanced before the event. The most important thing is the DRIVE SHAFT. Do not use a factory shaft. I recomend Either Drive Shaft Shop or Inland Empire and just tell them what your doing. As for aerodynamics, I belive you will be fine untill you try for big speeds 220+.

Doesn't Mojave go by very rules that are very similar to Maxton? If so you may want to make sure you will meet their safety requirements while you still got some time to adapt.
