Where are you going to get E85 in Houston? There are only a few pumps that I know of and they are at least 20 miles away from my home (Bellaire). I would do E85 in a heart beat if there were more pumps.

That is what I did with a friends car but with 160s. By far much more cost effective vs the high imp 120+ lb injectors.

Man that's a fantastic deal. I may have to jump on that. Thanks for the heads up!

yea. me too. i would like to run e85, but theres just not many places around town that carry it. i think an atascosita kroger has an e85 pump. would have to collect a 55gal drum in order for it to be worth the trip

I don't mean to hijack your thread OP but would anyone recommend running e85 on a stock block turbo build?

Absolutely. Preventing detonation on a stock block is your friend.

How much boost would you suggest on a stock block with e85? The car is track only.

Totally up to what kind of boost, ie screw, prochager, turbo. The heads, studs, and gaskets. The tuner involved. The weight of the car. Blah, blah, blah. Some people push water at 17psi on stock casting heads. Some don't and run 20-22psi. The higher boost people are usually Procharged. Not always though. Clear as mud?

In other words, crank it up until it pushes water or breaks. Then back it off 1 or 2 pounds. lol

Stock LS1 block, I'd stop at 10psi if I was running meth or E85. 8psi on gas. With stock block LS1s, the ring lands usually give up before you lift a head, or at the same time.

Now if you're talking stock block as in an LQ4, LM7, etc... then I'd keep going until it starts pushing water or I'm happy with where I'm at.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up running e85. I need to do a little more research though.

http://fuelinjectorconnection.com/sh...&productId=215

These flow up to 140lb, $50 cheaper and no driver box.

This is what I'm planing. Hoping to get 800+rwhp out of them.

Thinking I might need 3 walbro's....

The problem will be getting 3 walbros to flow that much at 120psi. Plus youll need a fancy regulator

I'm a big fan of FIC but that's a very shady advertisement. Those injectors appear to be 80# @ 43.5 psi. Advertising "up to 140# @ 120 psi" is retarded IMO. I have done my share of fighting injectors and seen the nightmares that you can run into by running an injector without the proper minimum pulsewidth for the application. IMO, the Holley 120# @ 43 psi are THE ****. Great bang for the buck. No adapters or pigtails required.

I have an AEM peak & hold driver box for $200 shipped with an uncut harness that I know works well. LMK.

There is nothing shady. They are not the standard 80's that people are using, the standard 80's at 4 bar should be 92 lb/hr, these are 103 lb/hr . They are a newer bosch injector that I have in several cars and they work well. They also handle higher pressures better.

No doubt the 120's you posted flow more, but most people would rather avoid another part that could fail, and the wiring and cost.

Oh, and im fairly certain that in tank walbros have an internal pop off valve at 80psi. so youll need externals to get 120psi

What all does it take to run that driver box? Splice in the stock injector harness? And will those injectors fit on the ls6 intake/fuel rails with no issue?

I ran an acceleronics driver box with a racetronix PnP harness and 120lb injectors on E85 and it ran great. Then I wanted to try for myself the newer high impedance bosch injectors that FIC and ID sell so I swapped out to the 120s from FIC and they idled and ran just as clean if not cleaner than the low imp injectors w/driver box. I never had a problem either way and last night I just setup another E85 car with the high impedance 160s from FIC and it idles great as well.
