I have Spal's dual 11" electric fans that I am rewiring to run as a pusher, but because of space limitations (for my trans cooler) I may have to break down and buy a single pusher. My question is how good are the pusher style fans on a high powered (700+RWHP) Procharged/Turbo application and what size CFM ratings should I look for? The dual fan setup worked great as a puller on my BBC but now the F1A is taking up too much of that space. I may be able to run a large single in front of the radiator if I move it over towards the drivers side; however without a fan shroud will it cool ok? Which position would be best?

i'm around 550 to 600, running one puller, one pusher "13"maradyne" as the puller, can't remember the brand name on the other, but either one by itself keeps the car cool, unless its 100 plus degrees out in stop and go traffic. the other is a fail safe.

on first attempt i wired them into the factory harness with factory style plugs but they drew too much amperage and didnt work out. kinda a brain fart on my end. following that i added two simple single relay circuits triggered off the factory high speed fan triggers

If you are pushing through the AC condenser I would say a single would not be enough. I modified the stock core support to allow moving the AC condenser away from the radiator. I installed a 16" Spal pusher directly to the face of the radiator. There is a 12"puller on the passinger side. I completely bypassed the stock fan wiring. I have an adustable aftermarket controller with a relay for each fan. Power comes of the hot post on the driver's side fender.

I thought about running two fans like this also but I read (somewhere) that two fans facing each other is not a good idea.

Yes, I have a supercharger but don't make that much HP. I run a LT1 radiator also. Everything I have read says puller fans are more efficient at cooling. Some of the Procharger guys have had cooling problems with the provided 16" puller. Some add a small additional puller. I might be a bit conservative by having two fans but running hot is not a good idea with boost.

I'm using 12in spal pushers..i'll see if I can dig up p/n. If u are pushing thru condensor, seal up inbetween rad and cond. I put male spade connectors on fan wiring and plugged into factory plugs. Stock rad didn't cut it in traffic with ac on, and ambient temps of 95 or above.

Do you guys think that one big 16" puller with 3000cfm will work without a fan shroud? Also because of the blower it has to be slightly offset to the drivers side. Like BadgeZ28, I was thinking about putting an pusher fan on there to but I don't want them to overlap each other.

the unknown brand fan is the one that's on the a/c condenser side, acting as the pusher. the other maradyne fan is the puller fan. both fans are technically forcing the air from the front to the back, so yes they are facing each other, but they force the air the same direction.
