Default S/C car blown tranny

I am needing some help to figure out what I am going to do withstand the power. Does anyone know where I can get a tranny that will withstand 600 hp (this of course will be for later in life please no cracks about the powerdyne) but seriously I have driven the car for about 2 or 3 months and allready I have gone through the transmission.

4L80E

3-speeds get annoying as hell on the highway, imo.

Did you ever figure out why you were showing such low boost? Was it the gauge?

actually it was the power wire but i am still only getting 5lbs of boost I think and the are telling me it is because of my headers and exhaust.

Is the th400 tranny a direct bolt up or is there modifications that have to be done.

4l80e is that a direct bolt up to and is there anything that I need for that

Neither the TH400 or the 4L80E is straight bolt on.The TH400 has been around since the muscle car era and was used in big block highperformance applications. The 4L80E is basicly a TH400 with an overdrive sector and electronic solinoids for shifting.Either transmission in stock form is much stronger than a 4L60E and either transmission can be built to withstand about 1200hp.The 4L80E in late model form is used in heavy duty trucks and is bolted to 6.0 CI block LS1s so the bellhousing is a match and the PCM can probably be modified to shift the transmission with your onboard electronics.
