Default Big hp build ???

Hey guys, I don't know if this is the right section to post this.

I'm about to start building a 77 Chevy pickup, my grandparents bought it new.

One of my main goals is I want 1000rwhp. I need help from you guys to piece together a combo that will come close to this goal.

I really want a roots style blower and a big cubic inch LSX, around a 454. I need help with what heads, cam, fuel system and other odds and ends to run.

Thanks

Everyone wants 1000 hp. There are countless threads on this topic. Just do a search.

I agree, but most of the builds are turboed on here. I want a roots blower. I did search and didn't come up with much.

BDS makes lower intake manifolds for their blowers to fit LS engines. Then I would put a big Whipple on that. If you must have roots an overdriven 8-71 on E85 might get you there.

(emphasis added)

X2 on the Whipple if you need Positive Displacement..

Roots are great to look at but Prochargers & Turbos kill Roots.

If your heart is set on a roots blower and 1k hp, and have a 77 p/u I'd use an old school big block in place of the LSX.

I want the roots, because of the looks and thats what my car has.
The truck is getting modernized. Tube frame, coil overs or air bags, big wheels and big brakes. So the LS just fits.

I want to go whipple, but if going to a turbo setup is that much easier to reach my goal, well than I'm all ears.

So a forged, stroked lq4, what turbo's or turbo, fuel system? I need direction to start getting prices and options.

Thanks

Start using search. Narrow it down by doing advanced search and only search in the forced induction section. Also read around on Yellowbullet and theturboforums.
